Yikes, this may be part of the reason my boyfriend wants me to quit

I love this post, I truly felt I was alone in being so completely turned on and at other times comforted with the scent of the one I love, and also enjoy his sweat for the scent and taste. All my friends said I was weird

Now I know I'm not

I hate to stigmatize people for something like that, but I think smoking is a filthy and silly habit.

I couldn't agree with you more...and I am a smoker (the stupidest thing I did as a teen).

As to your original question....the smell of a woman the morning after a night of hard sex...mmmmmmmmmmm makes me want to just start all over again.
I also like the fresh sweat between her breasts

I had once had a parter who, when she was sexually aroused, would produce a wonderful musky scent at the base of her throat and her shoulders. Never known that with anybody else, more's the pity.

This is an interesting post, I have always been aware of scents and smells from people---I cannot abide cigarette smoke, though before I got pregnant I smoked 2 packs a day--My personal cologne has been such since I was in high school, gentle, light and erotic---I can't abide any cologne that blows the whistle 2 miles before someone enters a room and remains for days like a bad relative--one of the things I taught My subs was hot and what scents to use--men temd to just splash any crap on that happens to have the sexiest ad on tv--I spent a great deal of time teaching them the proper scents and how to apply them--after all there is a body beyond the neck--- I can't abide the 2 day butt smell--nope, na uh, no way--

When the boy and I started chatting, he indicated he did not wear cologne---so My arrogance says--ok we will select something I like and suited to you when I get there---

now I like certain smells---not 2 days in mind you, but there are certain smells that are hot---never under the arms----never on men--( hang on guys, I'm not done...)

but the boy had a scent that was fresh, pristene, pure if you will---the first morning together I rolled over and was face to face with his armpit--OMG it was the most wonderful smell----a soft yet manly fragrance---like nothing I have ever smelled--it drove Me nuts--it was the most marvelous scent--(I bought a container of his deoderant when I got home to keep that scent near Me--- ) it was amazing...it was hot!

Caitlyn, sweetie, come sit by me. We can be our own group. The one that showers at least once daily and expects our partners to do the same.

*****WARNING*****UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT*****oh, and it's probably not going to sound all nice and sweet...

Men: I like to look at you when you are all sweaty and working hard and macho-manly-kinda-dirty. I like to see the sweat dripping from you when you are chopping wood, working in the yard, playing sports...but unless I was helping you work hard, work out or play that sport... I DO NOT WANT TO TOUCH YOU LIKE THAT, nor do I want you to touch me. I spent a whole lot of time showering, powdering, moisturizing, fixing my hair and putting on perfume and make up. I don't want to do it again just because you slimed me. And if I can smell your ass? OMG...I don't even want to think about that, say it with me EEEEEEWWWWWWW.

Women: There is no woman that's even remotely sexy to me if she smells like ass, pits, or unwashed cunt (yep, I said it, if I need to elaborate I will). I will gag and possibly vomit at the sight/smell of your hair that hasn't been washed in long enough time to make it stringy and oily. The ONLY person that looked good with dirty hair was Kurt. He's dead, so's the look. And the effect that uncleanliness has on your face? ok, I'm gagging now, I'm not going there.

and to ALL: BRUSH YOUR TEETH!!! a lot. Brush when you wake, after you eat (yes sparky, that means all meals and snacks), before you go to bed, and by all means USE those breath mints people, it's not just a neat fad!!! OH, and if you are ever in doubt...brush those teeth again. Your teeth are your friends, you want them for a long time. FLOSS! FLOSS! FLOSS! Spinach isn't the only thing that is unattractive when stuck in your teeth or all gunked up in the gaps by the gums...ok, I gotta stop here too.

I personally like perfume, I have changed my scent 4 or 5 times in the last 20 years, I spend a lot of time experimenting and trying out different scents and don't wear just any ole thing. I don't like to be drenched in it, I don't want you to smell as though you marinated in Old Spice. I do want you to smell clean and inviting. It should be pleasant, not an assault to the senses.

Misstress........ I agree with most all of yours.. but the one thing that got my attention the most... I HATE MORNING BREATH!!!!!... OMG... do NOT roll over of amornng and try to kiss me!

Also I get sick with alcohol breath.. specially if i'm NOT drinking too.

But be careful with all that brushing... my sister was a fanatic over brushing her teeth... morning, ight, after meals, snacks.. always carried a toothbrush with her... now she has problems with teeth... brushed all the protective anamal right off over time.. (thank goodness now a days they do have thinks like pocket packs from listerine... or those things you can slip on your fingers and brush... (that are not as harmful to teeth as brushing all the time) for those on the go all the time.

my x was allergic(?) to all forms of lotion, cologne's, etc. i realized after it was over how much i missed putting on lotion (i still used vitamin e-oil, no scent and is excellent in keeping one's skin soft). it was a treat for me to actually put on lotion again, i still don't wear much cologne (some things stick). also i am one of the "gasp" smokers... i am very very much aware of the smell and am a bit obsessive about it (ok don't try to tell me to quit... it just isn't that easy)..

It's kind of sad what great little "plastic-fantastic" consumers some of you are. But I guess when Wall Street and Madison Avenue crack the whip some of you jump and jump high.

And I'd rather make the gesture of the morning kiss than worry about it's ultimate appeal. And anyway, when I tell a woman to give me a kiss - I expect a kiss to be forthcoming pronto.

What I can tell you is that you are deliberately avoiding a whole world of information provided by your own bodies, see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pheremone

Now I'm a guy that baths frequently and wears cologne most of the time. Day to day I might wear some drugstore crap like "Gillette Cool Wave" or something. On more important occasions I might opt for the original version of "Chanel Egoiste" which is getting harder to find all the time. I also like Dunhill.

But I personally smell good and so do my partners. Added scents should be accents and not covers for one's actual bodily fragrance.

The world of smells is a horn of plenty; the more you partake of it the more is there to be partaken of.

I have to agree on the smoker's breath as well, when I quit smoking for 3 years I could definately tell when my ex had smoked, BUT as I am now a smoker again, I do try to respect non-smokers... not breathing on them or being to close to them if the scent is offensive to them. I totally agree with the bathing regularly, I don't see anything wrong with showering daily. I love the smell of some liquors on the breath, just depends on the person and the liquor and I do find the smell of a "clean man" that is sweaty to be a huge turn-on. I have no problem with the morning breath, even if it is atrocious, I would still kiss my mate. I do like the smell of certain colognes on men... but it has more to do with their bodies chemical reaction to the cologne then the actual cologne itself.

Cologne and perfumes are sickening. Smokers are hard to deal with. I'm clean and like clean. I use an unscented deoderant.

PS LA had the best line of what she liked to smell...LOL.

FWIW, you can actually tell all kinds of things from how people smell - even what they eat. I can certainly tell a meat eater from a vegan by sense of smell alone. I happen to be a meat eater myself, but that's not the point.

An old country saying referred to the cow that got into the onion patch. The taste of what a cow ate literally affected the taste of the milk. Thank God cows don't smoke.

i LOVE smells. i'm told i'm quite weird often because of it. i'll pick up one of his shirts and well.. smell it LOL. i walk up specifically just to smell him.

And yer right, around the neck and i find on the chest.. and sometimes the back of the arms.. i find his smell.. and its the most cozy, warming, comforting thing on the planet, nearly.

Noooooo and not the dirty smell. Or the BO smell.. which he swears is the one i like.. but i dont go to the places its at. LOL

And any smell i associate with him. His cologne. As he tells me i'm wierd when i come sniffing around him like a dog in heat, i tell him EVERYONE has a smell.. a natural smell that is like their essence.

i suppose to me thats what it is. his essence

Generally though, with most ppl i could careless what they smell like and am not close enough to smell them nor do i want to get that close.

Pillows, bedsheets, shirts, his robe anything thats been near him for an extended period of time for his smell to rub off on. though i do find that his smell doesnt stay on this stuff for too long = ( Think the longest is like 2 or 3 days.

1. back of the neck along the hairline
2. lips and mouth
3. kitty
4. fresh sweat between the breasts and at the small of the back
5. coffee, wine, chocolate, or fruit breath

So help me out here. Everyone can play. Gender (sex) is irrelevant. All thoughts entertained and are entertaining.

What's on your list?

Because my owner has a few different allergies, mainly to perfumes he doesn't wear any cologne and wears a very basic deoderant that doesn't contain any perfumes. So what I smell is all him, no stinky perfumes covering his pheremones. And I really love the smell of him, I've been known to smell his armpits.

Seldom do we agree on topics--but I agree with You on this one--when I want a kiss--I want it, morning breath or otherwise and I want the boy to be damn glad I do. As for "scents"--I hate smells that slam the door open, say hey bitch I'm here and then stay 2 days after like a bad relative!

You reminded me of a couple of sad/sweet stories I'd heard. One was a young widow and the other newly divorced. They both lie on their husband's pillow to smell his scent, and the widow refused to wash his shirt, keeping it so as to keep his smell.

Everyone smells like ass at some point or other. We are designed that way. Direct your complaints to the manufacturer.

All the "smell good" in the world cannot fix it.
