I'm new to both collarme and the bdsm community in general. I'm looking to meet a nice girl who just happens to be a sub, who's kinks mostly mirror my own and yeesh, the odds are a bit staggering, aren't they? I mean, *normal* dating is hard enough let alone dating with an additional criteria eliminating a larger percentage of the population. :)

That said, every time I a profile with "DON'T FUCKING EMAIL ME, I'M COLLARED/IN A RELATIONSHIP/TAKEN/etc" it actually gives me a lot of hope. Two people (at least!) found each other. How fucking awesome is that? Instead of being like a lot of people (I'm assuming) I'd rather learn from you than get ticked off about it - if you are in a relationship, whatever your preferred terminology, or have been in one in the past - please, illuminate me: where did you meet your partner? Was it online, or off? If offline, how did you go about finding other singles in the bdsm world?

Oh, I live in Los Angeles, so any info specific to LA would be amazing.

I met my husband here. Luckily you are in L.A., There are (or were, I moved away 6 yrs ago) several decent munches and clubs there. San Diego used to have a decent munch also..

I met my Master, here in the CM chatrooms, we're both ops in one of the rooms and started out working together as friends and it just kind of went from there.

I met my Mistress in one of the chat rooms here on CollarMe just over a year ago. I am also very new to bdsm. I had only begun exploring a couple of months before she found me here. At the time we were living 1,200 miles apart. I was in Minnesota, she was in New York. Last Sunday was the one year anniversary of the day I first wore her collar. A couple months later I relocated to be with her 24/7.

We met at an event called In the Woods in WA state. It is a week long kinky camp out. He and a friend had driven all the way from Montana to attend.

We meet 9 years ago in the first german S/M chatroom called ZartHart, meaning tender/hard.

Since that we are together, we were both not on the lookout. As we realised how strong the
love is, we both turned our whole life around.

We met in a random chatroom, and I didn't like him all that much. It took a couple of week before I thought "he's pretty okay" then another couple of months before I thought "I really kinda like this guys". Now he's moving in with me in the very near future and we're getting married in a little under 2 years.

I tell him often that he's like fungus on a tree . . . he grew on me

i actually met TheEngineer on alt.polyamory (newsgroup) 10 and a half years ago. i met Daddy online here a little over 2 years ago. moved in with TheEngineer a year ago last month, married him in december.

i'm in texas. Daddy is still in florida. i moved away with his blessings, and he still considers me "his". so i'm collared to both of them.

i met my pet here nearly 3 years around Christmastime. we exchanged a couple of messages and talked on the phone before meeting each other on New Year's Eve.

it wasn't "and they lived happily ever after" type of relationship - it was rocky at first. he was constantly away on business and i was getting used to being single after divorce. we mutatlly broke it off after 8 months however never quite got over each other since we would phone or send emails.

currently we're getting married next year.

I met mine in a local vanilla setting....quite by accident we learned of one another's BDSM interest and took it from there! Same with my previous slave...I met him at a Consulate dinner of all places. You never know where fellow kinksters may be lurking...

I met my current partner here on CM about 5 months ago. For various reasons online has been my main venue for meeting others. At the time we met I was seeing a few different people from CM and other online sites. Eventually he stood head and shoulders above the others and I found that I really wanted to spend my time with him. Who knows what the future holds but I'm happy for now...

If I ever had to start over again with the 'looking' process I'd start here - it's been a good place for me.

I met My husband under purely vanilla circumstances. The first time that I ever saw him, he was sitting beside a friend of Mine, talking about past relationships. Believe it or not, the first thing I ever said in front of him was, "you guys are definitely going to the wrong places to meet women." At the time, I thought it was funny. For him, he said he fell in love with Me at first sight. Eight years later, I am completely confident that he is the man that I will grow old with.

As for My sub, he just happened to stumble into a chat room one day when I was talking with friends about going to a club in Atlanta to play. At the spur of the moment, he asked if he could come along. I told him that it was a public club and everyone was welcome. The boy drove over two hours just to meet Me. My collar has been on his neck for almost two years now.

Here on CM, bantering back and forth in Polls & Random Stupidity. Neither of us were looking for partners, for different reasons. I was quite happily single and not interested in a LTR partner. Or even a short-term partner. But His posts made me laugh, He made me think, and we discovered we had so much in common. Within a week, we were emailing back and forth, then onto Skype, then eventually to almost constant contact either by IM, Skype or phone. Knew within a few weeks that He was extraordinary and the most amazing Man I'd ever met. Fought with myself and denied my feelings for Him until confronted with how wretchedly miserable I was and He wanted to know why. Finally broke down and admitted my feelings for Him. Shortly after that, we started making arrangements for me to move out to Him (I was in south-west Idaho, He was in Ontario, Canada. He asked me to marry Him in April, 2008, I flew out to move in with Him May 30, 2008, He collared me July 4th, 2008 and on Halloween Day 2008, we were married before friends and family on the shore of Lake Ontario, including a number of friends from here on CM.

Yes, success is possible, even when you're not looking for it. Like eyesopened said it best - every day I love Him more. For me, there is no hotter, sexier, funnier, loving Man on this planet.

I met him here on the boards about a year and a half ago.
He caught my attention with his awful sense of humor and inability to use the quote function properly.

We started talking through cmail and then quickly moved to gmail.
We physically met in a Lowes parking lot near our homes to see if the chemistry was there in person. It was.
He's gotten better at quoting...

My first master knew me from the time I was seven years old; so I guess we didn't really "meet" in the usual sense. We lived together for four years when I was in my 20s. And he was the one who introduced me to my LH about a year after he and I had split (we remain good friends).
This time around, I'm doing the looking without his involvement, here on CM. And things are promising so far.

We met here on CM. I wasn't looking for anything serious and He didn't usually contact anyone who wasn't in His geographic area. Go figure. We hit it off immediately. I moved from WV to AR to live with Him a little over one year later and we got married on the second anniversary of our "meeting" online. It's bliss
