A new Gallup Poll...asking Republicans if they would vote for Sarah Palin.....72% said yes. What are these people smoking?
On the other hand.....1/3 of Republicans claimed they would NOT vote for her.
The poll offered no alternative candidate....just a straight yes or no on Palin.
Imagine if they actually had a choice....what would that do the numbers?

Polls wrt Republicans are irrelevant. 2010 and 2012 will be determined by disapproval of the Dems, not approval of the GOP, and Obama took a big dive the last few days.

Feel free to use your own criteria for "big". 61% approval in the CNN poll, down from 76% in late February, and -8% in the Rasumussen approval index, the lowest level ever and a drop of 9 points in 10 days. Those are "big" to me.

Numbers that are bound to raise expectation amongst his detractors.....but certainly not so large as to worry his supporters.Does that about sum it up?

It sums it up...poorly, because youve let your donkey colored glasses interfere. Without the coloration, it is a trend that shows that people are finally linking the policies to the man. That should be a concern to his supporters, because his policies have not polled well for months.

Policies he is implementing to clean up the HUGE mess Bush left behind. The HUGE mess the GOP didnt know what to do with so they put up, for our disapproval, a woman so obviously wrong for a position, that they knew we wouldnt vote her in. Guess the fact that she was a bigger mess than they realized doesnt really matter.

Now, for the question i asked before.

There is no way anyone will ever convince me that bushy boy and his frat bros didnt know the economy was about to take a dump... a massive dump. suddenly... wow... speculation in oil dropped.. man.. didnt see that coming. suddenly... financial instutions were going under... nope.. they ddint know about that either...car companies and taking it up the ass... yeah.. another big surprise.. not.

So many knew... and we werent told.... we got fucked royally... and now they wanna complain about the people who are trying to clean up bushy boy's mess?

puleze.

willbeurdaddy gawd your research numbers are as bad as your manners.
CNN was at 67% not 76% in feb...so a six point drop, ....
from CNN TODAY
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/06/29/obamas-approval-rating-remains-steady-poll-says/
The 61 percent approval rating is down one point from May and down six points from February. "Since March, Obama's approval rating has gone down one percentage point each month in CNN polls," notes CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "In March it was 64 percent; in April it was 63 percent. Last month his approval rating stood at 62 percent and now it is at 61 percent."

Well, yeah! There ya go! That's a huge drop in just one day, because, uh... because today is the first day I even heard about it. So, yeah. Big, sudden drop.

Sure Bush knew.

He even tried to get something done.

But the Dems in Congress wouldn't pass his suggested legislation.

Perhaps they preferred to have the economy "take a dump" on Bush's watch, so that they could try to blame it all on the Republicans during the election?

Nahhh. Democratic politicians have integrity.

Hi Lucy

yes, i know. they had warnings, and sat on them. they inflated the price of oil... you can thank them for the price of gas, food, heating oil... all those pesky necesseties of living... then pulled out of the speculation when they realized the presidency wasnt as "in the bag" for the GOP as they thought. it escalated when the financial merkets started rumbling quietly about the morgage problems... and left the rest to take the hits.

OH how i could go on and on about this situation. Its not hard to see, if you can take a step back and really SEE it. Start back with katrina, then work your way forward. hind sight is 20/20 they say.. in this case.. its microscopic!

Numbers are also skewed to create the desired result. Ever watch that episode of Penn and Teller's? Makes perfect sense to me

Wrong again. The trend dates back to immediately after the inauguration. Thats more than 1/8th of his entire first and hopefully only term, and is at statistically significant levels.

"Wrong again"Oh well in that case let me pack up my banjo case and go home.
Seriously dude you are drawing way to much inferance from silly polling numbers......after all Bush's numbers could hardly have been any higher following 9/11......look how that turned out!

Your numbers are from 6/29, mine from today. (And the 76% was 2/6-2/8)

What was Bush's worst, 34%? Something like that.

Never fear, I will let you know when our current president's rating worries me.

Speaking of policies, I'm still waiting to see the justification for your claims that the national debt will exceed 100% of GDP and we will have double-digit interest, along with some substantiation of the "well-informed" prediction of double-digit inflation.
