And it is still a mystery to my why you claim that Obama's policies have anything to do with it when it was George Bush who turned a surplus into the largest deficit in history. And he didn't even have Reagan's excuse because House and Senate BOTH were also Republican.

[sm=agree.gif] Well said!!!

So much for the whole "it's hurting my family too much" drama queen nonsense:

Palin says she's not leaving politics

WASHINGTON – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she is not only staying in politics once she leaves the governor's office later this month, she's jumping right back into the national fray.

Palin tells the Washington Times for a Sunday story that she is eager to campaign for Republicans and independents and even Democrats who share her views on limited government, national defense and energy independence.

Demand for personal loans is low. Demand for business loans is extremely high. Unfortunately credit is still boudn up.

Yes, on the microeconomic scale you are right. From a macroeconomic perspective, it doesn't matter if demand is low because businesses don't need loans, or if it is low because they are ineligible. Either way, they end up not requesting funds from the Fed. You must have misread what I said. Demand for business loans is not low. Private placements are running record margins and are filling up as fast as they are offered.

The second paragraph merely depends on your definition of "superinflation". A term I never heard before you used it. More commonly its "hyperinflation", which has no precise threshhold. The 1970s were considered to be "nearing hyperinflation", and that is the sense I was repeating your use of superinflation. I assume you dont think that 20% inflation is out of the question under Obamas policies, and that you dont think that 20% inflation wouldnt be disasterous to the US and world economies.

Hyperinflation is just an inflammatory term that, as you say, has "no precise threshold" and is bandied about by those who want to score emotional points. Don't you think that an inflation rate in the teens per year is fundamentally different from an inflation rate in the hundreds per DAY? Inflation in the 1970s was "nearing hyperinflation" the same way I am nearing the moon when I climb up on a chair. Strawman. I never said there would be hyperinflation. Superinflation is something somebody else introduced.

Why are you saying WOULD be disastrous? when we are already in the middle of the aftermath of that exact disaster? The 1995-2008 inflation has PROVEN to be disastrous to the world economy! Inflation has nothing to do with the current problems.

And it is still a mystery to my why you claim that Obama's policies have anything to do with it when it was George Bush who turned a surplus into the largest deficit in history. And he didn't even have Reagan's excuse because House and Senate BOTH were also Republican. And yet another one who cant tell the difference between "will" and "is". You might also want to examine how much of the Bush deficits were from defense or non-discretionary spending, and how much of the non-defense discretionary spending was under a Democratic majority.

So I just have a question for the conservatives, you've been able to show a few obscure bloggers attacks on the Palin minor children and one disputed joke by a comic. What would the appropriate response be if DailyKos printed the worst sorts of hate agains those minor children? Specifically if they were called 'whores' and 'trash'?

I smell a trap....be careful my conservative friends....I think Ken's up to something here.

Just a little hypocrisy detection. No trap unless they really are hypocrites.

Oh...in that case,by all means carry on ....

ThatDamnedPanda -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/12/2009 12:28:49 PM)

I really, really missed Tim Russert this morning. David Gregory had John McCain on "Meet The Press", and he was peppering him with a few questions about Palin's resignation. And of course McCain said he supported her, she made the right decision, etc. etc. She'd made no promise to the people of Alaska, she had to do what was right for herself and the party, yadda yadda yadda. And Gregory let him off the hook. Took him right up to the edge, and backed off before asking him, "But if you'd won the election, and 6 months into your term she'd sudenly decided to resign the Vice Presidency, would you still think she was making the right decision?" Russert, the journalist,  would have asked the question. Gregory, the entertainer, apparently wasn't bright enough to even think of it. What a fluff show that's turned into.

Damn ... that would have been an instant hit on YouTube if he did ...

No kidding. It was hanging right out over the plate. Russert would have knocked it right out of the park, and Gregory didn't even hear the pitch whiff past him.

slvemike4u -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/12/2009 1:40:25 PM)

I don't know Panda...I watched this morning and McCains discomfit was evident.Would Russert have nailed there...yeah I think he would have....but on the other hand McCain sort of hung himself with his evasive and lukewarm support of Palin.
Watching him twist and contort trying to put a positive spin on this was uncomfortable enough.

This is shown as in reply to me, just for the record, I have never complained about attacks against nor supported SP.

As far as your hypothetical goes, there are laws against slander/libel/defamation of character that generally exempt such attacks on public figures. I would assume that the exemption do not extend to families of public figures. So there is a probably a legal remedy. Moreover, I would encourage the radical left to continue their venomous treatment of SP and her family. It only serves to alienate moderates and conservatives, and come 2012 every vote will count.

So the blog site and the individual posters should be sued for defamation? And you think it will alienate moderates and conservatives?

How very interesting.

Of course it wasn't actually DailyKos that did this nor was it actually Palin's kids that were viciously attacked. Anyone want to guess where the attacks were posted and who was attacked?

There you go again, putting words in peoples mouths. I didnt say they SHOULD be sued, I said that is probably a legal remedy for those so inlcined. And of course, its irrelevant where its done. You posed a hypothetical "if DailyKos printed" thus the response.

DomKen -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/12/2009 2:25:19 PM)

So now you claim if it was another prominent blog site it should be treated differently?
