Paragraphs DO indeed make a post/text much easier to read.

As for spelling : English isn't my first language, so I guess my grammar isn't the best at times, but sometimes I do wonder about spelling and grammar in many posts here. Are people just being hasty or careless? Or is the changing due to an evolution in the written language? Internetstyle language and textmessages are a growing influence on both the written and spoken language.
In fact, I've already encountered someone who actually said "LOL" when something funny happened in RT, instead of reallife laughing!

It's perhaps something that cannot be prevented: take some time and read (or listen to) some speeched made 20 years ago and you'll find a completely different style. Go back 50 years and it's different again. Go back about 100 years and it looks archaic! The younger generation often doesn't even have the patience to try and understand it.
As long as languages are still "alive" they will change. That may perhaps not always be to our liking, but it happens anyway.

Btw, the same thing is going on in movieland: the story is becoming less and less important. Presentday films have to be showing a constant high action, or people will fail to come. (personally I prefer a good story in a movie: the black and white 3+hour movie 7 Samurai is my favorite). Yet when showing that movie to a younger public they'll be getting restless/bored within 15 minutes because it's not action packed.
That too is  an evolution. Not one I like perhaps, but also not one I can stop from happening.

I second the paragraphs advice...

*gets on soap box*
but the whole your vs. you're I feel is a moot point. Yes, it is wrong. I understand that you find it annoying. But there are so many different mistakes that can be made.. it's just a mistake, and I don't understand why people think of it as such a big deal. It dosn't matter how hard some people work at it, they just don't see them. The rules don't make sence.

There's something of an irony to read a quibble about the readability and structure of written words on a message forum from a person whose posting meter looks like a channeling of the ghost of E. E. Cummings.

I have to second this. No offence intended, GYPZYQUEEN, but your own posts are a mass of different sizes, text colors, smileys and effects like bold/underline/italic, that make for pretty difficult reading as well. The post just below yours by WoodenPaddle is a nice, well written example of how to make a readable article, but your own is definitely not.

Nine times out of ten, I pass by any and all of your postings because of your use of font, color, bolding, etc etc. Your posts are extremely hard to decipher; and personally, it's not worth my effort to do so...which is really sad in a way because you sound like you could be an intelligent and amusing person.

Either way, it seems a bit odd that you would sit there on your high and mighty horse, complaining about the 'format' of other postings, when you have yet to graduate past the first grade stage yourself.

I'll read any posting that indicates the poster has put some thought into it and I value individuality, which is one of the reasons why I come here.

Chuckles, i have to third, fourth etc what some others are saying, about the irony at the OP posting this type of thread.   On some level, i almost think this thread may be simply humor on the OPs part because i cannot see how someone who posts as outrageously in style and as hard to read style as she does would post such a thread in seriousness?

But if it is in seriousness --- i keep thinking glass houses and stones...

Gotta agree, paragraphs make a post easier to read.  Also agree that the varying colors and sizes are hard to read.  The worst on my eyes are those who center their text; I don't even read the centered ones, I just can't deal with that at all, it drives me nuts.  Having said that, I'm sure my lousy use of punctuation and run-ons bother people too.  To each his own, I suppose, I'm no genuis myself.

I wont read a centered one. Its just does me in.

I tend to break mine up if I can, Whether is true paragraph worthy or not.
And grammer...never going to happen, I do well to get the correct words, my mind likes typing other words totally none relataed just to mess with me, hense my disclaimer. It not a lack of education, its just the way my brain fires these days, not much I can do, if its a longer post I do try to proofread but can easily miss that too since 9 times out of 10 the wrong word is spelled correctly.

I have no problem with people bypassing my posts because of this, I definetly wouldnt make it personal.  When speaking I also reverse words which drives people crazy.
Long time friends have learned my shortcoming and learned to read or talk knowing the translation for the most part.

As for fonts, Im to lazy to code fonts, so not worth my time.

I agree with the people talking about the irony.
I also dislike the centered posts and avoid them.
I've hidden the OP a couple of times but eventually decided to have it unhid 'cause I often like the responses I've bothered trying to read so now I just hop over the responses unless I really like the thread and am interested in every response.

I have read far worse. I suspect I may have skipped reading the OP's posts. However, though I have no idea what art is about, I have got to say that the OP does give me an art impression?

I agree about the need for paragraphs.

I need a standard font, black on white. Light colored stuff is too hard for me to read.

Commonly confused words, as I home schooled one year, and stressed learning the differences: your's and yours; your, you're; there, they;re, and their, to, too, and too; its and it's; were, we're, where, wear. I think those were the worst offenders.

I wrote the way I do to personalize it more--I have to write at work day in and day out, in stilted English for the countries translating and in perfect paragraphs etc for the other work---the way I wrote here isw My effort at putting forth the Me--the real Me.

Got to agree with IrishMist here, I'm afraid, GypzyQueen. They are hard on the eyes. And, btw, you misspelled "possession" too.........luci

I realize now it is somewhat of a selfish reason to ask for what I did..

I am going blind in the left eye and often do not realize how big I make my posts and I apologize.
I also use  color to see what I have written..again the eye sight.

I will see what I can do..then again..maybe quibble and drivel and e.e.
channelings are not worth reading anyway

ty you all.

as a note ..I get just as many messages about liking my posts...about 4 a day...as not..wheather content or the color etc..

And here's one more, GQ.

I think you have a very creative mind, and I always read your posts. I'll admit that sometimes I don't understand them as well as I'd like, but just the phrasing and the way you use words are almost always thought-provoking and well worth the time. You're taking a bit of a thumping here, so it just seems right to chime in and balance things out a bit. Keep on bein' you, OK?
