So, I have ended my 6 day fast. Did I have a good reason for doing this? Nope. Just did it. I am sure that I am de-toxified however. Gonna go sleep some more. I have been needing a lot of that lately.

Best,

Curiosity, can I ask why? Did it accomplish what you hoped for?

I've been thinking of doing a fast. Did you drink juices?

Nope. . . jut stoped caloric intake. You should really talk to your medical professional if you want to fast, but I am sure that you realize this.

I will go one step further and say that you should see your doctor to make sure you are in good health before you begin. Then you should go see someone who REALLY understands nutrition...and I don't think that most doctors have a very good understanding of that at all. A good nutritionist can help you prepare for a fast and quide you through.

I fast once a year.

Sure, you can ask, but I have no answers for human behavior. No reason, I just lost my appitite and stoped eating. There was nothing to accomplish. Thank you for asking, however.

ummmmmmm...i have a question...

why do they call it a "fast" when it seems like an eternity before it's over?

It is Old English for abstaining from food. It is from before 1000 CE. The "fast" as in time period is from the 900 CE Old English "vast"

Feel better.

Detoxified from what? After all, fasting completly for that long can cause muscle enzymes to break down to toxic levels. Where you atleast drinking water?

In general, unhealthy food. My body does not seem to process Fast Food well, and I do not seem to want to eat after having it for a couple days.

It has also been suggested that it was caused by mental/emotional anxiety. As soon as I figure out what is bothering me, I will let you know.

Yes, I was drinking water, diet coke, and coffee.

Best,

LaMalinche

That would mean no chocolate. You are a masochist.

But, have it your way. One bronto-burger coming up.

Best,

LaMalinche

BTW - how are you feeling today Michael? Just hope that you are not singing Barry Manilow when I bring by your burger. Take care, buddy.

So do i understand correctly that you fasted as a result of some kind of poisioning, ie unhealthy food?

The first thing that comes to mind that can cause that is MSG monosodium glutamate if i remember right. it is used in many foods as a flavoring agent and it can cause everything you mentioned here.

i bought about 10 pounds of activated charcoal several years ago and about 1/4 cup will in a matter of minutes get rid of most poisions and toxins including rat poison and works especially well on food poisioning.

On the down side if you take heart meds, or epelepsy meds it will clean your system from that too, so you would have to double up on your dose the day you do this and of course clear it with yout doc.

i didnt dream this up and it is what they use in the hospital for drug overdose. it would save you from starving for a week

Well, I suppose there are chocolate covered ants. . . then you could have your meat and your chocolate. And I think Mole sause has chocolate. And I am sure the Iron Chefs could come up with some more ways to mix the two.

Just thoughts.
