ORIGINAL: Kalista07 We rarely argue...Mostly because he refuses to engage with me on that level... However, it just seriously enrages me when we watch a movie, television program, listen to music, or talk about a book where someone is using a metaphor. For some reason metaphors somehow do not process in my brain. Like not at all. i'm not really stupid..i mean i have a masters degree. i don't understand why i just can not comprehend these little bastards and why most everyone else in the free world can. Any ideas on why i can not get this? Any suggestions for how i can learn about these or is it just pretty much hopeless? Kali zaphira understands what you mean; she is much the same. zaphira has no use for metaphors; to her thinking, they are nothing more than an attempt to be coy and witty. zaphira does not process them well either; Master said once, perhaps it was because zaphira thinks quickly, in the here and now; and likes answers to come quickly, in the here and now. Metaphors make zaphira stop and analyze; something that slows zaphira down. This slave does not like that, the feeling of having to slow down; in her mind or in action. Perhaps, you are somewhat like zaphira in her thinking. You don't want to stop and analyze; you would rather have the answer now.
