FR, after read thru

Please note that the PM button underneath these postings works regardless of whether the poster has an active profile on the other side, & it sends a message via the other side . .. . . So hiding or not maintaining a CM profile will not keep Private Messages away, that's what the Block feature is for . . . .. .

Also, the profile on the CollarChat forums can also be hidden . . . ..

For whatever that's worth . . . . .

Shhhhhh. Don't go making sense and using logic. HPH hates that.

Actually, Loki, you were the one who implied that an active profile was necessary for private messaging & I was just pointing out that that's not the way this place works . . .. . Hate mail, or whatever, can be sent regardless of whether there's an active profile in place . . . . . . Only the Block feature & / or the Bulk Mail filters can keep messages away . . . . .

Why do they need a profile to "take heat" when the person wishing to give 'heat' can just as easily post it in the thread?

Oh wait...I think I get it. You want to be able to send "hate mail" to those whose posts you don't agree with, and get mad when you can't, is that it?

Actually, DemonKia, if you'll look under my screen name there on the left....those buttons you mentioned don't appear. (Well at least they don't for me, but that could be because I *am* me.) Can you see them?

Yours appear for me, but mine don't appear for me . . . . . My postings do not have the Hide, Profile, or PM buttons, but everyone else does have those . . . .

I just sent you a PM; I'm curious as whether it works . . . . Please let me know . . . .

What did you see when you clicked "Profile?"

What always shows up when I open the Profile page of someone with a hidden or inactive profile -- the home page without the user profile / pic, but with the search section & the listing of profiles fitting the search criteria specified . . . . & with the words 'profile not found' or similar across the top . . . .

So, did you get the PM? & do you sign in here on Collarchat, or do you sign in thru CM?

I have encountered a different message with some without an account on CM, I think . . . . It looks sorta like the error page that shows up when the CollarChat servers are busy, but says something like 'account not found' -- I suspect those persons are strictly only using the CC side & don't ever sign into CM, but I'm not absolutely sure . . . . .

As I tried to explain to HPH, I access the forums directly through the collarchat website. As I am not looking for anything but occasional debate/conversation/entertainment, I have no need for a personal ad-esque profile. So no, I didn't get any pm here on the forum site.

I can't log into that site. When I try it says "invalid user name/password." I have no profile on that site. As I said, I log in through this site only.

No problem. Now if I could just get 'someone' to realize there's no law that mandates a personal ad in order to post on a message board, we'd be all set.

Curious here. Loki, do you consider Facebook to be a dating site? Or MySpace? How about FetLife, do you think of that as being a dating site?

Cuz, personally, I consider CollarMe / CollarChat to be a social networking site for kinksters, tho' I understand tons think of CM in a more goal-oriented dating way . . . . .

Nope, I consider those social networking sites. They are, however a bit different than collarme. Sure, collarme has recently added many features that make it more like those sites, when it began it was simply profile, interests, and e-mail ability and that was it. The friends feature was only added.....what..this year? Last year at the earliest? I just figure that any site that asks you upon account creation to label yourself as a "blank" seeking a "blank," to be a dating site first and anything else second.

For example, I've seen TONS of profiles start out with the words "I only keep this profile for the message boards." You see, that is all they know. I discovered you don't need a profile in order to post. So, I don't have one. Now I don't have to deal with trolls and spammers and such e-mailing me. I just come directly to the forums and that's it.
