Liberterian or Republican....Glenn Beck is an idiot....less than 2 weeks ago on Fox he said the President is a racist....qualifies him for a spot in the idocy hall of fame no matter which side of the coin he falls. I have no issue with dissent....stand on the tallest mountain and scream to your hearts content....buy time on the radio or TV....say whatever you wish....I could care less...but, an idiot is an idiot!!!!...

What is your definition of racist? To me it is someone who has race constantly on their mind and makes decisions on the basis of race. Obama is clearly a racist by my definition.

Oh jeez....then you re-affirm my initial thoughts.....but, I like to post so, I will decline to share them....

If she cant afford coverage, she cant afford to have kids.

And the species would decline. The poor of the world have always had to have several children to ensure survival. To suggest money worries could or should over rule human nature is absurd.

The species would survive quite well without them. And to suggest that someone who has money worried should add to them or burden society with them is what is absurd. If you want to appeal to nature, appeal to all of nature...those of our species who's parents couldnt provide for them died. Is that a better alternative than choosing not to have them at all?

Okay... maybe I am misunderstanding you. Care to explain? I understand your question. What I don't understand is why you would say this or bring it up at all. What was your intent?

willbe I once could afford them. Then I couldn't. Should they then be neglected... by nature and it's course of course... be neglected unto death? Considered less because their mom became less?

Nope. I never even said that if you someone had them when they couldnt afford them they should be neglected. I said that someone who cant afford them should have the intelligence not to have them.

All of which is a hijack to the original point. That a Nurse Practitioner cant afford health care coverage is simply a lie.

a NP who starts her own practice wont have employeer based insurance, which is what most RN's have. try again. its very possible, and you have no proof otherwise.

It seems to me the post's are becoming more and more bizarre....and the number of offended members expanding daily.
Just my opinion of course........

tazzygirl -> RE: HEALTH CARE (8/8/2009 3:10:19 PM)

Lucylastic -> RE: HEALTH CARE (8/8/2009 3:35:29 PM)

I just got an email from a well meaning friend who wanted to tell me that your government healthcare will result in death panels for the elderly and the handicapped ....her source  ?? La Palin
Im getting seriously worried about her, my girlfriend that is. She said, "why would she lie, she has read the bill, she knows"

Statement on the Current Health Care Debate
Yesterday, August 07, 2009, 4:26:32 PM | Sarah Palin

quote:

As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we’re saying not just no, but hell no! The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil. Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion. Rep. Michele Bachmann highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the president’s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff, in a floor speech to the House of Representatives. I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors. We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens. If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Ronald Reagan once wrote, “Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.” Let’s stop and think and make our voices heard before it’s too late. - Sarah Palin Rep. I don't know if she is just stupid and believes this garbage or if she's actually lying. Either way it's hard to believe. It's hard to believe she can be that stupid. And if she knows she's lying it's hard to believe that she could lie like this to people and to think that people would be so stupid as to believe her and this Rush Limbaugh garbage. Can you say whack jobs?

Lockit -> RE: HEALTH CARE (8/8/2009 3:52:39 PM)

That area of the project bill is subject to interpretation because it doesn't explain much but I find it questionable in that they will offer the end life counseling and yet will offer (?) it again. Why do it again unless the person just isn't doing it right... their right(?) There are just too many questions unanswered and the unknown is scary to those who do not trust the government and feel they don't matter to the government. Add that to those saying they will lower medicare cost by a certain amount and people want to know how they are going to do that and then fall into the fear... denial of treatment if you are old (?).

After being asked to teach a class for the chronically ill and in pain patients at a Colorado hospital... and seeing the agenda of the program and where it was going from... I don't trust much when it comes to teaching the patients how it needs to be done with the government paying for it. Working with nursing programs that go to the home... open door, insert a bunch of agencies if you are not very on top of things according to them. So I trust few... with these great social programs they are bringing in, even when they sound good and like they would be okay. Sometimes, they are just not.

People need answers and until then... the fear... political sides and media will get them. Rather than research it... they will be sheep and led. Very sad to say that is what most will do.

People are scared. Lies from one side pointing to the lies from the other side, no one truly having a clue whats going on, on either side... and the people of "we the union" are scared of losing what little they have.

i honestly cannot find fault in anyone except those who know what they are doing, and using it as a political platform. its time "we the people" started making those we elect responsible.... for everything.

Lucylastic -> RE: HEALTH CARE (8/8/2009 4:05:03 PM)

Lockit I agree with you, worked for private health care(elderly)  companies in the UK and the govmnt run faciities, I know which I preferred then and I feel the same now. There are so many issues and no one bill will fix everything.

I also dont like the way its been handled from both sides, luckily I dont have to live with it day to day..... but I do keep many people from here in my thoughts hoping the best for them... out of  what comes out at the end of this nightmare.

Look at all the health insurance you can buy in Canada from these companies if you’re unhappy with the government insurance. I am sick and tired of listening to lies about the government taking over health insurance from Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin and other right wing Republicans.

History points to you being wrong, poor people had large families to ensure thier survival, thats why animals also have several offspring. To suggest otherwise is absurd, as is your notion poor people shouldnt have children they cant afford, that sounds like something form communist states, given your political bias thats quite ironic.

Not really, you see the political spectrum is not actually linear, it is circular It doesn't matter which direction you go, either left or right, you end up in the same place: Totalitarianism. The only real difference between Nazism and Stalinism is the rhetoric.

Lockit is it possible you are looking at this the wrong way.....what if the bill currently being discussed specified one and one only end of life counseling session...and presented it to the patient as a one time offer....Could it be the allowence of the second session is to allow for the inevitable progression of what ever condition spurred the first counseling session.Instead of looking at it as a sinister plot to talk people into choosing a quick exit...look at it as the necessary flexibility of such a medical decision?
