The Democratic Party's message is"protesters should be shot".....this is a good one Sanity. One in the back of the head...or perhaps buckshot in the ass?

SilverMark -> RE: HEALTH CARE (8/8/2009 10:17:04 AM)

Liberterian or Republican....Glenn Beck is an idiot....less than 2 weeks ago on Fox he said the President is a racist....qualifies him for a spot in the idocy hall of fame no matter which side of the coin he falls. I have no issue with dissent....stand on the tallest mountain and scream to your hearts content....buy time on the radio or TV....say whatever you wish....I could care less...but, an idiot is an idiot!!!!...

Glenn Beck is more of a Libertarian than a Republican... and, as I have pointed out in another thread, its funny how a year ago dissent was the considered highest form of patriotism among the left but now, less than a year later, anyone found guilty of disagreeing with the president needs to shut the hell up or get ready to have their head busted in.

The Democrat party needs a compass... because they seem totally lost. Their messages have no meaning because their principles are not anchored to anything solid, they constantly change with each new breeze.

This week the message is, protesters should be shot. What will it be next week?

They should be buried.

tazzygirl -> RE: HEALTH CARE (8/8/2009 10:18:55 AM)

he is also losing advertisers.

Sanity -> RE: HEALTH CARE (8/8/2009 10:23:49 AM)

Do you have a link to that? I've heard he said that, but I also heard that he backed the statement up very convincingly, and I myself have wondered how Barack Obama could attend Trinity Church for twenty years and call Jeremiah Wright his spiritual mentor unless Obama was in fact a racist himself.

Then there's the whole problem with a group of Black Panthers caught on video blocking polling places in Philly, and the way Obama instructed his Justice Department to drop all the pending charges against them.

So, with the preceding as a frame of reference, I'm interested in hearing Glenn's argument.

If we are defined by your criteria....I must be gay...the Cannon of my church is.....I have attended the same church with him for 13 years.... Years ago I had a few friends I had grown up with that were 1% ers....and we would work on bikes and cars together...doesn't make me an Outlaw....and I wouldn't choose to judge you strictly by whom you associate with, I know you to be a different person than others might...

Polite, to insist someone who attends 8 plus years of college. who can function with only a minimum of assistance from a Physicain, who has most likely worked as an RN while attaining her NP, is stupid... well... what can i say... willbe's words speak for themselves.

Are you afraid of Beck? Here's one video I found, of Beck himself:

Its odd that you linked to NBC, its becoming common knowledge that Obama is in bed with GE, which owns NBC.

Ten Telltale Signs of Republican Disease

By Bob Burnett
August 7, 2009

A recent Daily Kos poll indicated 58 percent of Republicans either believe President Obama isn't a US citizen or aren't sure. Out here on the left coast, we don't know many Republicans, so it's hard for us to understand how they can be that stupid.

There may be a medical explanation. Perhaps the Republican daily diet of whoppers has caused organic brain rot, a variant of mad cow disease. On the other hand, their failure to accept reality might be psychological, early onset dementia resulting from excessive exposure to Fox News and hate radio.

Whatever the source, Republican disease has readily identifiable symptoms. There are ten telltale signs, core Republican beliefs that cause rational Americans to conclude the person they see ranting on TV or disrupting town-hall meetings is pathological.

(1) George W. Bush kept America safe.

Republicans believe that George Bush and Dick Cheney bear no responsibility for 9/11. Evidently the attack was an act of God rather than evidence of incompetence. For Republicans, the fact the US survived proves Bush/Cheney were strong leaders.

(2) History will vindicate Bush.

Republicans believe history will treat Bush/Cheney kindly. Over the next few decades, historians will write that Bush/Cheney were smart to abandon Afghanistan, invade Iraq, and piss off our allies. Moreover, historians will conclude Bush/Cheney were justified when they spied upon Americans, arrested whomever they suspected was a terrorist, and tortured them.

(3) The recession wasn't Bush's fault.

Republicans believe Bush/Cheney economic policies - lower taxes for rich people, massive deficits, deregulation of the financial sector, exporting jobs to China, and suspension of environmental protections - were prudent. Republicans see no relationship between these policies and the recession that began in November 2007. They believe the downturn was the fault of a few bad apples on Wall Street and the market would have corrected itself if it hadn't been for the intervention of the Federal Reserve - a Zionist cabal - and Treasury Secretary Paulson - a closet Democrat.

(4) America needs less government.

As much as they admire George Bush and Dick Cheney, Republicans feel they made a mistake getting the government involved in the financial meltdown. The correct procedure would have been to let giants like Citigroup and Bank of America fail, because the market would have adjusted eventually.

(5) All taxes must be cut.

Republicans believe there is only one role for the government: to get out of the way. Reducing the size of government means starving the beast," denying it funds. The solution for problems such as high unemployment, inadequate healthcare, and failing schools is to cut taxes. Republicans believe that if corporations and the rich have lower taxes, prosperity will trickle down; the market will respond positively, which in time will remedy America's social problems. (Republicans also believe in the tooth fairy.)

(6) Barack Obama stole the 2008 election.

Republicans believe that while John McCain wasn't a true-blue Republican, he would have been an adequate placeholder for their real candidate, Sarah Palin. Had McCain been elected, it would have only been a matter of time before Palin occupied the Oval Office. But McCain/Palin were cheated: Barack Obama wasn't eligible to run for office because he wasn't born in the US; the liberal media duped a majority of Americans into believing that Obama was an American, a nice guy with a populist agenda; and real Americans - Republicans -- were intimidated by Obama's coalition of leftists, homosexuals, Jews, Negroes, and "the people our parents warned us about."

(7) Obama's economic stimulus package was a mistake.

While Republicans have a hard time blaming the recession on Obama, they do fault him for the stimulus package. Despite many signs the recession has bottomed out and the economy is recovering, Republican see no evidence the stimulus is working.

(8) There isn't a healthcare crisis.

Republicans believe that America's healthcare system is the finest in the world, there is no crisis, and Obama's push for healthcare reform is actually an excuse to move the country into socialism. They trust insurance companies to do the right thing about healthcare.

(9) Obama has weakened our nation.

Republicans believe George Bush kept the US strong and solidified its role as a Christian nation, leading a crusade to rid the world of heathens. In contrast, they feel Barack Obama has traveled around the globe apologizing for the actions of the Bush/Cheney Administration; in their eyes he has weakened America's image and made us more vulnerable to attack.

(10) Obama is a racist.

Republicans believe the President's response to the arrest of Professor Gates proved Obama is an angry racist. This confirmed what Republicans suspected all along: Obama's a Muslim terrorist. That's why Republicans need their guns; they have to protect themselves from the new threat emanating from the White House.

If you encounter someone who suffers from mad Republican disease, turn off their TV and radio, and drive them to the nearest rehabilitation clinic -- even if that means traveling to the left coast.

But Brain, to a lot of people, the homeless are as "bad as the illegals and welfare scum"...they dont care what happens to them..There are plenty of examples in this thread.

Many who are homeless served the USA, did what they were supposed to do by direct order of the country and were left abandoned in their horror of what they had to do for this country. A country that forgets those that served it, will soon be forgotten. I think the memory of it may linger a while... but this isn't the country we once thought it was and what we will have... soon.

And that stupid shit... of if they are too poor or stupid they shouldn't have kids. Tell that to the hardened cock insisting it has a place to play, then walking away from the results of that play. How many walk away from that which they planned and brought into the world? I remember a day when most of the nations leaders that were divorced and had children, were behind in child support. They didn't make the right laws back then and it took other parents like me fighting to get them to make some changes that would effect them. They were serving their own needs then, just as they are now.

I could once afford them... once upon a time when I could still get medical coverage. And then... and then... bam! Life! Bam!

[sm=bowdown.gif] to those perfect enough and... lucky enough to live so judgementally and proper.

13 million young uninsured...thats about 2 billion a year. Fine, now scrap the rest of the bullshit plan and save 80 billion.

What is your definition of racist? To me it is someone who has race constantly on their mind and makes decisions on the basis of race. Obama is clearly a racist by my definition.

The species would survive quite well without them. And to suggest that someone who has money worried should add to them or burden society with them is what is absurd. If you want to appeal to nature, appeal to all of nature...those of our species who's parents couldnt provide for them died. Is that a better alternative than choosing not to have them at all?

Lockit -> RE: HEALTH CARE (8/8/2009 12:11:09 PM)

willbe I once could afford them. Then I couldn't. Should they then be neglected... by nature and it's course of course... be neglected unto death? Considered less because their mom became less?

Nope. I never even said that if you someone had them when they couldnt afford them they should be neglected. I said that someone who cant afford them should have the intelligence not to have them.

All of which is a hijack to the original point. That a Nurse Practitioner cant afford health care coverage is simply a lie.
