This is probably the most common newbie question on these boards. The answer is keep posting. The cone means you are new here. Every time you pass a certain number of posts you get promoted to another level and receive a different icon. It does not mean your level in the lifestyle; only your level of participation on these boards. Happy Posting.

[;)] I rarely see the avatars anymore, I usually keep my CollarChat interface set to 'Simplified Flat Style' (it's in the CollarChat profile editing page, accessible up there by the search function) . . . .. I only set it to see avatars once in a while, like when someone starts complimenting Greedy on her new pic, & then I usually change it back after a day or two . .. . . It makes reading stuff smoother to not have all those big blank spaces between posts, & the pages load a smidge faster . . .. . smirkles I like to be helpful . . . . . . I also like to explain how the magic tricks work & similar 'don't discuss fight club' kinds of transgressiveness . . . . . But don't worry, there's still plenty of mysteriousness in the universe that I can't lay a finger on . . . .. LaT, he's a dom, so all you're seeing is his hand . . . . Jus' makin' sure that's clear, doesn't really change the essence of what you're saying . . . . I agree that there is a clear communication there . . . . . A whole bunch of 'em. But that's a whole 'nother subject . . . . . Tho' I do wonder about whether the various gals in his profile pics know how their pics are being used, whether he went to the bother of having signed photo releases, that sorta thing . ... .
