Have you ever reached out to hug someone and they hugged with one arm and the head turned the other way as if you had baaaaaaad breath or just ugly? There are subs I know that treat me that way.. How should I respond, ignore them or let them keep doing it to me?

i agree with LaT. A response like that means they  see you as a space invader. It is better to keep a bit of distance than to get too close.

There are people that do not like to hug or be touched.  My adult son is one of them, and that's how he hugs me when HE is being affectionate.  And yes, I ask him if I can touch him, when I'm being affectionate towards him, even if it's a pat on the shoulder.  It's a matter of respecting his personal space.

Touching someone without their agreement is the definition of assault. So stop doing it.
Respect other people's sense of self and ask first instead of assuming.

i'm just gona break it dona for ya here dude...When i hug people like that it generally means this, "how can i get this JAMF the hell away from me and make him stop touching me" My very next thought is, "how quickly can i get the hell away from this guy".
My advice: Keep your distance and mind your manners.

Wow.  I often hug people like that.  For instance, that's how I hugged Girly today.  But I think she's fragile right now & I don't want to hurt her.  Has nothing to do with not wanting to hug.  Because I wanna hug her lots more!!!!!
