I think it is essential for a Dom to be firm but fair and definately caring (I would hate to be with a Dom who just didn't care... it spells disaster)

I think both Sub & Dom need to be respectful. Its definately a two way thing

Responsibility and accountability (maybe those are basically the same thing) are the most important attributes for both parties in any type of relationship.
