I guess Illinois has been getting too many headlines and NJ needed to reassert its bid for the most corrupt political machine in the country.

Assemblyman Daniel Van Pelt (R-Ocean)

Well, right off the bat-----the Dem's have a machine, but the Repubs have a network...........your characterization is faulty, right outta the chute, and you have no way of knowing the rabbi's politics, so by and large, this is lamentable neo-con slanted crap.

Apparently you dont know NJ very well. The vast majority of public officials who don't buy their office by funding their own campaigns (Corzine, Lautenberg) move up the ranks from local Democratic politics that is corrupt as the Hudson County sky is gray.

Neither would I.  For any and every link a republican can come up with, a democrat would be able to counteract with their own.  Its hopeless.

I wouldn't either, but it seems some people just can't help themselves. I wonder if medication would help.

Okay,lets try this again...

Someone point out the section of the story that dissects the inner workings of this evil Democratic Party Machine.....or is that just conjecture and partisan posturing?

Dude, he's pointing to the rather obvious implication of your title that Dems have a political machine that's corrupt, ridiculously suggesting that Pubs are lily white public servants, each independently going innocently about their day in the service of their constituents.

And yeah, that marks the discussion as probably not worth having right out of the chute.

History has well demonstrated that there's enough corruption for everyone. No need to push and shove.

That is only the obvious implication of the title if you project your own propensity toward bias on it. the FACT is that NJ politics has been corrupted by a Democratic machine for decades, including the "Sopranos" like history of mob infiltration. It implies nothing whatsover about Republicans.

Did I say anything about any place other than NJ? No. So why move the goalposts outside of my specific comment? Answer: Because it is in your typical mode of weak attempts to challenge people on things you know nothing about.

You seem obsessed with scoring points against progressives. My point was that I can beat you at that game but choose not to play instead.

Well Willbeur, I don't know.

It didn't really have to imply anything about Republicans.  One of the primary figures involved was a Republican state assemblyman.

I took at look at your profile and it says California.

Did you used to live in New Jersey and have some inside knowledge of this case that we aren't aware of?

You havent beaten me at anything yet, youve been proven wrong in every discussion we've had. Chosing not to play by shifting the field is definitely a good face saving tactic. At least you're learning.

Its not inside knowledge, its public knowledge, although it might not get the notice outside of the state. and yes I lived there for 45 years in total.

""New Jersey's corruption problem is one of the worst, if not the worst, in the nation," said FBI Special Agent Ed Kahrer. "Corruption is not only pervasive, but it has become engrained in New Jersey's political cult."

"Corruption has permeated New Jersey politics for years. Former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie, who is currently running on the Republican ticket for governor, takes credit for 130 convictions of elected and appointed officials on corruption charges.

CBS 2 HD spoke with Former Asst. U.S. Attorney Randy Mastro on Thursday about the details of the massive FBI probe.

"It reminds me of that old Casablanca line, you know, I'm shocked, shocked to see there's corruption in New Jersey politics. But this one tops them all, with body parts and rabbis and so many towns involved. It's an extraordinary story," said Mastro.
