FullCircle -> RE: Why? (7/27/2009 10:54:11 AM)

I was thinking about this the other day and the conclusion I came to is people call themselves this for various reasons some valid and some invalid. Like for example when someone calls themselves dominant but they then see someone they like who happens to be dominant and so they bend their desires in a case of wishful thinking that they'll come to like things they don't just because they like the person doing the things to them enough. I only class someone as switch if they always have both desires; meaning strictly speaking they need to be with another switch or have an open relationship with numerous people at the same time, some dominant and some submissive. This idea that people can be submissive for twenty years and call themselves a switch is a kind of nonsense, people can desire different roles at different times throughout their lives but only a switch desires both at the same time, otherwise why have the term at all? Then some go on about people being able to define themselves how they like just like a brain surgeon is someone that works on peoples feet.[8|]
