I am going to let you guys in on a secret. I write about butterflies and drawing bubble baths because part of me IS a very sweet and sensitive guy. It didn't bother me (or any of the posters now wringing their hands here) when Leonidas mocked me for being so fluffy. Part of me isn't so fluffy. It may perhaps be something only Leonidas and I would understand quote: ORIGINAL: Leonidas It means a fierce, and to an ousider unreasonable, pride in the group to which one belongs. It's something natural in men who retain something of manhood, and have not been fully convinced that individuality is to be valued above all. It's why you see "Semper Fidelis" bumper stickers, and club colors proudly emblazoned on the backs of biker jackets. Men with a little sand left in them understand it, whereas potato shaped, pasty faced men who march along in the uniforms of bland faceless commerce do not.

Then how about instead of raising money for charity both of you going and actually doing something for charity - like, helping the street homeless somewhere like downtown LA? Let's see both of you gain the respect of some of the guys out there sleeping on the streets. ahhh...then I'm just going to ignore it because he's trying to make pointed comments about a way of life and a philosophy that he may or may not understand, I don't know and I don't particularly care which. I may not understand/know all there is to know about Gor, but from what I do know and understand I rather like the philosophy behind it and since that's for Me, all well and good...it's not for everyone, so I won't try and change their minds...but maybe if there was a bit more courtesy and I dunno, respect is the word I'd use, but it's not the right word I don't think here...but regardless...if people agreed to live and let live, disagree but do it in a polite manner, perhaps there'd be more of an understanding between Goreans and BDSM'ers? Somehow though, I doubt it...it's human nature to fear/hate/attack that which we don't understand/accept.

It can be hard for a man to, ah, resist certain urges when he feels challenged, but, yeah, one of the signs of maturing is being strong enough to do so. I like both Michael and Leonidas, and mean that in no backhanded way towards either of you guys, but I would say, take a step back, and think this through.

c'mon guys, now it IS degenerating into a pissing contest. stop taking it personal. i'm not even sure if i could say that michael and leonidas are taking it personal? they seem to be taking it partly as an affront on their own personal interpretation of what it means to be a strong male. period. with variations on the internal theme of maleness in relation to women in particular (not having followed the many many threads they're both on). doesn't even seem to be about gor - that just seems to be a handy way to measure their differences. my interpretation of this contest (mine only), is that all words aside, it's a male personality clash. and god forbid that they actually LIKE each other when they sit down and talk in real time and can pick up intonations that just aren't possible in text [8D] to me, it all seems like a friendly rivalry with an edge in it. and the comment that men don't settle fights like this? please. HOW big is WWF wrestling in america????? [:D]
