Aylee -> Completely stupid emails (7/26/2009 12:10:11 PM)

Okay. . . I probably miss-spelled something.  A lot of things.

I got an email. . . asking me about a line in a song.  First question. . . Is that a code for something?

I responded with the answer and a query as to why he did not google the answer.

I recieved the reply of "lol you live in kansas"

Umm. . . I know that.

Second question:  Does where I live have any bearing on a line in a song?

He never responded to my second email.

I am very confused as to what this was all about.

Idiots live everywhere and fuck with people everywhere--be glad you didn't wake in Oz.

Is Kansas somewhere mentioned in your profile?

I got a similar e-mail about a line in a song a few weeks ago.  In the e-mail I got, the guy asked me, "In the song 'Take a Walk on the Wild Side', what do the colored girls sing?"

I didn't know if this was a code for something, or a silly device to get me to engage in conversation with him.  Either way, I wasn't interested and just blew the guy off.

LOL. I got the same dang e-mail!!! I blew that idiot off too!

Well. . .

If you pull my name up you get how long I have been a member, where I am located, and my orientation.

So yes, Kansas is located.

However. . . ask anyone. . . my location is NOT a secret.

I just want to know why it is funny.

TurboJugend -> RE: Completely stupid emails (7/26/2009 12:21:54 PM)

I was curious if he had read it..or wanted to make you think he could discover it.
some people like to act as a hacker..."look what I can discover when you send me messages" crap.
Many people don't even know what they wrote on the web....others take advantage of that

As things go, I found it a pretty creative way to engage a person in a conversation.  Far less generic than many messages I receive.

I answered the e-mail since it was just my kind of quirky and off-beat sense of humor he was appealing to.

We had a lovely conversation about Lou Reed, John Cale and the song "Venus in Furs".

Phoenixpower -> RE: Completely stupid emails (7/26/2009 12:45:32 PM)

Reminds me on an email once in a while kind of "tell me your secrest fantasy"...I either don't bother to reply at all or reply "Do I look bored?" followed by the block button.

Well, I'm glad he turned out to be an okay guy and a decent conversationalist.  Maybe he just wanted someone to talk to.
