I could just hand over my kids, then the intruder would be sorry.  muhahahaha

Reminds me of one of my favorite O Henry stories, "The Ransom of Red Chief". Thanks for the reminder! I need to read it again.

One Christmas Morning I woke up to find a strange man in work pants standing in my hallway.  At first I thought he was there to fix the furnace, until I woke up.  Then I asked him what he was doing there.  He couldn't answer.  I said "Get out."  He shrugged and shook his head in broken English and said "I no know how."  I escorted him to the front door, shut it behind him, locked it, and looked down and realized I was naked.

Good thing you didn't mistake him for Santa Claus and offer him milk and cookies!

I would grab my mobile phone and call the police.

Good plan, Kevvie. I'm sure "Mr. Intruder with Malicious Intentions" will either turn tail and run at the sight of your cell phone, or be happy to stand there politely and do nothing while you call the cops to come get him. BTW, you DO know that it takes the police time to respond to an emergency call, right?
quote:

I would not want a death on my conscience. To me to kill someone is just wrong. Killing for me is wrong full stop. To me two wrongs ie an eye for an eye , do not make a right. But thats just me

If, for you, that sentiment is worth your life and the lives of those you love, go with it. If you somehow think the cops are going to beam down 2 seconds after you call and save your ass during a home invasion, please put down the crack pipe.

I don't care from 2 wrongs not making a right, I care about getting out with my ass intact. Where I live is a bit isolated, and depending on the police to stop a crime in progress (even if I had time to whip out my trusty cell phone) would be idiotic. Anyone breaking into my home will be repelled with extreme prejudice, up to and including lethal force in the form of a 9mm Beretta.

BTW, in case you missed it, I'm a sub. My orientation has fuck all to do with my reaction in a situation where my life is being threatened. The post where you babbled something about a Domme caning such an intruder was a bit of spanktastic gibberish, and fairly offensive. Stop it.

@To LAT *smooches fellow pit bull lover* and others with guard/protection dogs- laws vary by state as regards signage. Being in California, the signs on my fences and gates read: "Warning- Dogs loose in yard, DO NOT enter". Such a sign says nothing about the dogs, other than they are there (although anyone with 2 axons and a dendrite will get the message). If asked, the signs were put up to keep the unwary from letting my dogs out of the yard by accident. OTOH, some asshat thief cannot claim he didn't know they were there.

That said, my favourite dog-related sign reads, "We can make it to the fence in 2.5 seconds..... can you?"
It sucks, but plausible deniability can be your friend, depending on local laws.

Well to me using a gun would be like shooting myself in the foot. Now why would I want to risk possible life imprisonment for a stay in jail. I wouldnt.  Then I would only have my cell phone literally. Laughs

Yeah I misread this too as "All ya have to do is cook them!" That would be interesting punishment for a criminal and could wipe out hunger!

Don't ever have children.  For each life you bring into this world, you bring one death.

His threads used to be good for a giggle, but shit like this is a good example why they're just becoming more annoying than funny. I don't take anything he says seriously anymore anyway - it's impossible for me to believe this is anything but an elaborate prank - but the schtick is just getting worn out. You can only tell the same joke so many times before people just get sick of hearing it.

I don't own a gun, but I can throw a mean knife.  More than likely though it would not be handy.
I have had someone push their way into a motel room once, actually.. 3 men.  They started with friendly overtures and it sort of escalated rapidly until there appeared to be no exit for me.  As a result of my life experience I have taught myself to be a fast thinker who can reason out an exit more often than not.  I also have little regard for personal injury, theirs or mine.  I will fight until there is only one standing if necessary.  The end result was one guy ended up at the bottom of the stairs, one had a head wound, and the other just backed up.  I think I broke a couple of toes.  I felt an extreme rush of adrenalin which I rode for days.  And oh yeah.. I am sub.

Sometimes I joke that if Daddy does not watch me better I'll be kidnapped, and he says the kidnappers would have you for an hour and then beg to return you and swear that having you for an hour was punishment enough please don't press charges..

For the past five pages i've had the same thought..... and if i do not post it my head will implode...i was not going to post it because Sir would *not* be happy with this....and much pain would ensue after this........  Since He neither reads here nor posts here...bah...

i would make these intruders look at me stark ass nekkid...and when they ran screaming from my house traumatized and blood running from their eyes...Well, i suppose that might be the last time they broke into someone's house....

My state has both Castle laws  and "Make My Day" laws.

Me?  I shoot first, ask questions later.  My family knows better than to simply let themselves in if they don't LIVE here.  (That primarily being my idiot brother, who knows I would take a great deal of Pleasure in shooting him.)  My friends aren't impolite (or Stupid) enough to simply let themselves into someone else's home - the exception being a few Very Close friends whom I've told they don't have to knock, but even they announce themselves.  The aide and nurses from the Hospice company know they can let themselves in if I don't answer the door - but to announce themselves if they do.

Anyone else is well advised to wait on the front porch until they're specifically Invited inside.

Yes, I've had someone attempt to push their way past me - the gun wasn't handy, but I handled the situation.  By the time he picked his sorry ass up off the floor from me kicking him twice in the nuts and once in the ribs (after he was on the floor writhing in pain from being kicked in the nuts), I had armed myself with a 15 inch diameter cast iron skillet, which I proceeded to bash him in the head with repeatedly until he learned Not to try and get back up again.  I don't know what happened to him after they released him from the ER from treating his concussion and two broken ribs, but I never saw him again.  (And no, I'm absolutely NOT a Domina.)

It would depend on what the intruder was doing at the time.  My sister was married to an abusive husband.  He liked hitting and kicking her around.  With him..I used to throw punches at him and say..."how do you like it asshole?"
He used to fall to my feet, wrap his arms around my legs and beg me not to hit him again.  Unfortunately she never got the courage to stand up to him.

Is the intruder armed or unarmed?  I do keep a loaded gun within arms distance to me when I sleep.  If there is something serious going on it is the first thing I grab.  I'm a pretty good shot and I'm definitely not afraid to use a gun.

I am the submissive in our relationship.  My dom, he does not like guns.  Although he knows my history and allows me to go ahead as I normally would.

In the past I've caught a robber or two.  It really depends on the situation.

Yep.  lol I hit what I need to hit.  I am good at archery too, I have a dead aim right too the center.  Only.. I have to do it with my glasses off.  I am effectively blind without them.  Mine is more of an instinctual aim and let it fly.  Knives, arrows, bottles of Jack, what ever is handy.  I don't miss.

That could backfire you know, and it could insite such lust that they are even more determined to come in, only now you are what they're coming in to see when before it was a simple break in

I'd let the golden retriever lick them to death
Honestly he is totally welcoming to women and children, strange men are suspect until I tell him they are okay.

And there's a big cast iron skillet in my kitchen, only have to hit them once to put them down.

But I live in a safe place, where I am more at risk by an attack by a hungry bear in winter/early spring then by people.

Like Lashra, I have a male pit bull that ALL rock hard, solid muscle...and a female mastiff that loves me to death.  Not only would I turn them both loose on him, but I'd call the cops and take Stella's approach.  Sing and tell bad jokes, while I'm waiting for the cops to come.
(Thanks for the idea, Stella!)
