Yup, the parents on these shows let their children become horrible ill behaved little monsters who terrorize any one and every one in their space, and out of desperation and because they don't know what to do any more they call show's like Super Nanny and Nanny 911. And yet as horrible as the kids are, you never once see Nanny jo jo or any of the other Nannies hitting the kids, in any way and the nannies can get the kids to behave. Now this is television and not everything on tv can be believed but if professional nannies can get kids to behave properly with out resorting to spanking or hitting or belting in ANY FORM, then I believe parents can to.* maybe with the exception of a child who has to be shown how their behavior hurts, like the one special needs kid who had to be tackled to the ground to know it hurts and they shouldn't do it other wise he wouldn't stop* Or maybe the Nannies can do this because they're professionals and have the skills to do this and parents are not and do not. I don't know. quote:
ORIGINAL: windchymes Parents have to teach the next generation how to BE parents. Based on the parenting I've seen on shows like Supernanny and Nanny 911, some people just aren't doing that. Hovering over kids, pampering them constantantly and "talking" with them instead of correcting the behavior just doesn't work. It's all about the "Mom Look".....my kids are 25 & 27 and they still move when I do it, lol. Of course, we laugh about it now, but my son disciplines his daughter the same way, and she's a well-behaved kid underneath the orneriness. Best grandkid ever!
