Actually to be fair Esinn that is true. Religion was always strongly frowned upon especially in communist russia and later the Soviet union as it diverted feelings of devotion from the state and the party. It was deemed better to believe in the party than anything else and they did quite a lot to dismantle organised religion in their sphere of influence.

The fact our bodies, planet and universe often act contrary to our happiness and are designed so poorly.... I do agree God hates us. However, the fact that god hates humans is no reason to believe it is a necessity for our goodness.
