I had an interesting conversation with a submissive a few nights ago. It is a variation on a conversation that I have had before and I am quite sure others have had before and we disagreed...not with bloodshed or harsh words, the disagreement was friendly.

I don't have many "truisms" in my life. I tend to think they can bind you...so to speak...into conclusions based simply on a programmed thought/thought pattern instead of giving consideration to each situation that comes along but I like this "truism"...because I think it IS relatively true in the vanilla world and, to some extent, the D/s world: The biggest difference in men and women when they go out on a new date? The woman always knows whether or not she's going to get laid that night.

That said, the discussion centered on whether or not it is easier to find and hook up with a play/fuck partner if you are a male dominant, female dominant, male submissive or female submissive. I know the way I voted. I know the way she voted. Let's see how you folks vote.

Who has an easier time finding a no-strings-attached (other than being a friend and being willing to become easily available) play AND fuck partner?

Unfortunately none of the options are applicable in my case. In my world, a dominant, submissive, switch fuck buddies don't apply. Most of the emphasis is on whether the other person is a top, bottom or versatile, which are different from the roles we apply in WIITWD.

I'd say it's always easier for women, when you bring sex into the equation. Frankly, if a woman wants sex - regardless of her size, the conventional views of beauty/what's hot, etc - she can find it. The same is Not necessarily the case for guys. It is and always has been up to the woman.

Now when you remove Sex - specifically - from the equation, I don't think gender makes nearly as much difference as Orientation.

Good sadists are hard to find. And when I say "good" I mean ...... well trained in the use of the toys, combined with a willingness to keep power bullshit out of things once the play time is Over. Masochists - or submissives who are willing to endure pain even if they don't Enjoy it the way those like myself do - are easy to find, even if they have widely varying tolerance levels.

For someone like myself, finding playpartners is a true challenge. I enjoy being on the recieving end of pain. I do NOT enjoy having some schmuck think that once he's used a flogger on me that I'm going to follow him around, setting aside my good sense and independance, turning weak in the knee (and essentially braindead) if he happens to snap his fingers in my direction - or that I'm automatically going to fuck him simply because I allowed him to flog me. (And before yall start protesting that "doms" aren't like that - that is Exactly what My experience with them has been over the course of the past 20 years.) When I'm in the mood to weild the flogger instead of recieving it - I absolutely don't want to have to put up with someone that's going to follow me around making puppydog eyes and asking what they can do for me constantly. (Hint - you made yourself a target of opportunity - you already did for me all you Can do for me. You'd be surprised at how many get offended when they get told that, though.)

I didn't know when I would walk out the door if I would be having sex with him that night. Isn't that part of what the date is supposed to do, give you more insight into the other person and your interest in them?

But yeah, a woman can almost always find casual sex.
