There was a team of 6 lawyers leading the prosecution against Ted Stevens. 3 of them from Alaska. They were in contempt of court for withholding exculpatory evidence that would have shown that he was innocent. Witnesses were also 'tampered' with also against a court order. Only one was a federal prosecuter appointed by Bush. The FBI is investigating this case against the prosecuters as we speak..

The lead prosecutor was the GWB appointee. Squirm all you want but there weren't any democratic appointees invovled in this.

Obv we will never no, but minus Edwards there would have been a much clearer path for HC.
I see, possible but I suspect that the vast majority of Edwards' support that would have gone to Clinton early on went to her later on. Towards the end there was a rather powerful push for Hillary if I recall correctly, enough to convince her that she still had a chance. But like you said we will never know, but it is sort of fun to speculate. Do you really think things would be all that different with Hillary as POTUS?

Worlds different.

I suspect the greatest part of the GOP hasn't the time for corruption, being so busy tapping their toes in airport toilets.

FR~
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/08/07/senator.resignation/

Senator from my state, and someone i've actually met in person, Mel Martinez just announced his early resignation.

He's a likeable guy. He's human, like any of our elected officials (of any party), and therefore, has done some things that are definately questionable.  i'm just not so willing to pretend any one party holds the monopoly on corruption. It's sort of how the game is played in Washington.

As soon as we voters realize we aren't better off shouting across party lines, but instead, unite as Americans and demand more from our elected officials, voting on issues not as Dems or Repubs, but individually....the better our country will be. Sadly, i just don't see it happening anytime soon.

Face it. Often with politicians,  it's not about Red or Blue, but...Green.

After GW, the Democrats could have run Rocky & Bullwinkle and won - but there was always a lot of animus against Hillary.   She does come across as a bit of a battleaxe.

So I have to think you're indulging in a few little old time-tested Republican delusions.
