We've all heard the joke about how men have two brains, one in their head and one in their dick, and there's only enough blood flow for one or the other... I was talking with a lovely sub today about D/s.and it hit me that Dom men are Dom because they ARE thinking with both brains! We're thinking with our dicks as well as our heads. Maybe its not so much that doms are intelligent - but that they do more thinking about their other than the average vanilla. And to master someone else, i think they need to be at least as intelligent as the person they are domming. If for no other reason then they need to be able to understand the reasons for actions taken by the dommee. After all, if you don't understand how your dommee thinks, how can you control them sucessfully?

uumm...bdsm doesn't make you smarter. I've met quite a lot of doms who are dumber than a doorknob. Doms are who they are not because they supposedly think with "both heads". Doms are who they are because they have a dominant personality, leadership abilities.
