I want to listen to what you folks hate about politicians?

In my case what I hate about politicians like Senators and Congress/men/women is that they have the time to say Hi! vote for me! yeah, and then once in office when you just want to swing by for a three minute chat well then hey! you get to meet the third assistant of the third assistant of the office staff since the politician is too busy for a face to face greet since the politician has important business on a visit to China junket and zero, zip, nada time for lowly peon voters............bah!!

What do I hate about politicians....
They are liars
They are corrupt
They are owned by special interests
They act in their own best interest rather than the national interest
They are cowards
They care more about being reelected than they do about doing the right thing

That will do for a start

So whats needed is a politician thats not republican or democratic like an independent runner?

Hmmm what I also hate about politicians is that they just promise and lie when what we need is to have those politicians place those promises on a signed and sealed document with a provision that if those promises go unkept then the politician gets evicted from office?

No what we need is honest people. We need statesmen. What we need is people who take the term "public service" seriously.

I hate when they fight with each other the most.......

We have gotten to a point where it does not matter the issue, were gonna disgrace the other party, the good of the people matters not.......

The fact they they do not have to rely on social security when they retire! If they did have to rely on it, you can be damn sure it would be fixed before their next break! And you can throw in medicare too.

Speaking of politicians.......I was just visited by one we did some work for.

I heard approximately an hour of very fast talking, asked a few questions, made a few points, and I still have ZERO clue what the hell she was trying to say. Just a lot of rhetoric, no meat at all. Apparently she is against the latest and greatest health care plan. However, when I asked her about specific problems in the current one, she simply blathered on about Cadillacs and buying them for other people. My issues are not with automobiles, but reasonable health care for all US citizens, at a reasonable price.

I even went on her website to try and figure out where she really stands on specifics. Nada, just a lot of happy happy feel good shit about her life and hobbies. I do not CARE about her family, what she likes to do in her off time, that she had to pay for her own education. None of that affects me AT ALL.

Not one of my questions got answered. Just lots of speed talking bullshit. Needless to say, the chick isn't getting any votes in this shop.

Political windbags more like.

There are a few, and I do mean few.. no wait..., very few exceptions when it comes to politicians and these are the ones who are very clear on what they stand for, who work tirelessly for the people they represent, champion causes and achieve what they set out to do.

But having spent around a decade dealing with them personally most are a complete waste of space and cannot be trusted.

Let me give you one example.

I did a charity production of one of my plays supported by local politicians in two theatres in two cities. Admission to the theatre to see these performances - 15 in each city - was a donation of food for the poorest people living in the cities.

The performances were successful, audiences between 300 and 400 people every night, lots of food collected. There was to be a public handing out ceremony the Monday after the week of the last performances.

I agree to hand out food in the smaller city personally with members of the cast, leaving the cast in the other city to hand out donations.

However in one city there were only three boxes of food given away, and many poor people were turned away. In the other city there were five boxes, again with people turned away.

So what about the rest? Well the previous weekend the politicians came and helped themselves as did the director of one theatre.

And this is but one example.

I haven't had this experience at all.

Surely you don't expect your representatives to sit around all day like receptionists?

I have had nothing but success bringing matters to the attention of my representatives. Even my Senator--from the other party--resolved a six month dispute with a financial company in a day for me once it was brought to his attention, with the company bending over backwards to please me.

I've only once had a state senator tell me they don't do things like that. We didn't re-elect her.

how they always seem to be worried about everyone.... but the people who placed them into office. next time, they just need to take their political trail to the middle east.

Most politicians have a law degree. They do not understand math or basic physical laws of the World. The numbers  they deal with make very little sense to them. So, we rarely hear from a politician anything based on (even simple) logic. If some politician says something that is a basic common sense statement the others discount it as a nonsense (things can not be simple).

My biggest gripe about politicians is that it has turned into a career choice.  That's bullshit.

The option would be expecting people to take time off from their careers--or to elect people unable to muster one.

What I mean is people like Ted Stevens, Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, and the late Strom Thurmond who spend nearly all of their adult lives in public office.
