Status: offline 		Hi there everyone. Recently I bought myself a new Rectal Dilator Kit for myself to use to help open myself up more than I currently am. The kit came with 5 different sized plugs, from a 1 inch diameter to a 2 in diameter in 1/4" steps. Each plug also has a small hole in the tip that helps prevent pressure buildup. (so the packaging says) I also got myself a very large bottle of lube to use with these.

Now the lube works great, but I have no idea how I'm supposed to use this kit to train myself to be more open. By that I mean that while I can understand the basic concept of Lube, lube and more lube, then moving on from one size to a larger size, how long should I leave the plugs in, or what kind of schedule with them should I keep? Would it be a good idea to wear a plug long term (like for a day) then try moving to a larger plug? Would it be better to simply wear a plug for only a few hours a day instead of the whole day? Should I wear it while I sleep? What if I'm out and I need to use the restroom? Should I carry some lube with me to help re-insertion.

I think you can see where my confusion comes from. If anyone would like to offer me advice on the matter, I would appreciate it. If anyone is curious as to what the dilator kit I got looks like exactly, I put a link to it below.

OK, in the event that you're serious, unlike lube, a little common sense goes a long way.  Start with the smallest plug for short periods of time.  Say fifteen minutes to start.  Do that for a few days and then increase the time.  Go up to say thirty minutes.  (Please, for heaven's sake, remember to clean it between uses.  Condoms will make that job easier.)  When you have gotten to the point where you can insert the smallest for the amount of time you are hoping to achieve, move up to the next size and start back at fifteen minutes.  I'd also suggest that you do this only at home until you've become accustomed to having an insertable be part of your day.

I'm ranking this one right up there with 'how do I use My vibrator' and 'new ways to get females to talk about a male's ass' as far as threads go.

One more quick clue.  It's usually advisable to have a general idea of how to use a toy before you buy it.

Status: offline 		I have that exact same dilator set. I re-purposed the 2" one as a jello mold LOL. I should have it cut in half so I can use the two halves at the beach for creating sand art ;)
 
It's an excellent set - the tiny hole drilled in the tip prevents 'vapor-lock' so pressure doesnt build and organs don't get inverted  when its time to remove the dilator. There are other reasons for 'venting' also but I'll let you figure them out.
 
Wearing anything from this dilator set 'out and about' may not be practical as this set is rigid plastic. For 'out and about', get a nice silicone anal plug and perhaps a plug harness. If a harness isn't in your budget, experiment with vet wrap - its also less 'bulk' under your clothes.

I did also use the search feature, searching multiple terms, but none of them really answered the questions I wanted to ask. That is why I made this topic.

Nope. Just something that I wanted to try and explore. Though I am not currently with anyone or have any prospective relationships on the horizon, that doesn't mean I can't keep exploring and learning new things on my own. Doing this is actually letting me learn more about my body, what it can and cannot do, and what it does and doesn't like. It's letting me get more in touch with myself in a very basic sense, and that is reason in and of itself to do it.
