So what do you all do to chase away the winter blahs?

I hate winter to. I want to start walking all the beautiful walking trails we have here again. A good two hour walk in nice warm fresh air really revitalizes me. Right now I have to settle for the exercise bike.

Thanks RO for the info... I have to check it out against what is used when we get the yard sprayed with.
I hate that I've had to resort to chemicals, but when your dog comes in and you have to pull at least five ticks off of him
each time...and then off of the wee ones...UGH.
I've looked into getting guniea hens, but in our area that brings in the black bear, coyote, fox and scarily...mountain lions.
Yes Jersey has all of them, believe it or not. At least here where I live.

The shepards used a dog called the "Great Pyrenees" breed.

They are wolf killers because their hair is so thick a wolf cant bite their neck and inflict a fatal wound especially if you get a sharp spike collar for them! a pyre will dominate a rottweiller and if it gets in a tumble with a wolf it wont back down. a male pyre is about the same size as a wolf too so the wolves woukldhave their hands full. i just got off the phone with a guy who used them as gaurd dogs for cattle and he recommends getting 2 of them or more because they will double or triple team an assailiant.

i would think these people could put you on to a good flock dog

i use pyrethins on my dog each spring and she is totally bug free, one application lasts the whole summer and it is safe enough you can bathe them in it. i just rinse her with it mixed in water.
