quote:
ORIGINAL: cloudboy I think you can depart from norms for short periods of time, but for the long haul --- certain basics remain in place: listening, understanding, compromise, flexibility, cooperation, compassion, empathy, energy, teamworkd etc. Not one of these things is irreconcilable with financial domination. quote:
To me, these override BDSM ideology, which as some parlay it, almost comes across as religious dogma. First you invoke the spectre of "health" to try and intimidate your opponents in a simple matter of taste--now you shift gears and invoke the spectre of religious fundamentalism to suggest that anyone who disagrees with your position is a "bdsm zealot"? Is there any other ridiculously inappropriate demonizing tactic you'd like to get out of the way, when condemning kinks and relationship dynamics that you find unappealing? 'Cause if you work hard, you might be able to work the Nazi party and the threat of terrorism in somehow... When will you take responsibility condemning and stigmatizing others, particularly those who have done you no harm whatsoever? We're all pretty clear that consenting Financial Domination is a rare thing, but it's clear from the testimony of both men and women, in this and many other threads, that it exists and works for some people. Ditto with pro domination. Anyway, since you seem to be determined to fight both dirty and ugly, I'll volley your passive aggression with this: I've come to the conclusion that all Money Threads are just another flavor of my culture's favorite sport, which is woman-bashing. My reasoning as follows: Stereotypically, this culture allows women to exercise only sexual power, and then only for a brief duration of time (usually from ages 15-35). All other modes of power, especially financial, are reserved for men. Women who try to parlay the one form of power they are socially permitted, their sexuality, into any other kind of power (especially financial) typically become the victims of verbal, physical and structural violence in this society. These threads are just another version of the same poison that leaves so many prostitutes dead in dumpsters.
