I'm inclined to think that people who are clueless in their posts about bdsm matters (Like the: I've got a playdate scheduled, what do I do? as an example) are likely rather clueless about/inexperienced in their relationships with others in general. I think that the majority of such folks are so caught up in the fantasy that they haven't entertained that there are actual real, living, breathing people involved (Kinda like the wankish cmail I just opened awhile ago referencing a practice I spoke of on a thread: asking how I like it and do I do it often...my response was something along the lines of: I'm more than an automaton with a pseudo-phallus attached, read my profile, if you still think we're compatible, please feel free to write back and discuss why). I mean, we all have fantasies and I understand that getting something you dearly want after, well, forever, can be a really cool idea but I can't help but think a lot of people lose sight of the forest for the trees. And the point of this thread is that, even though people have the ability to look up information about any other subject under the sun, some lose all ability to put even the slightest effort forth when it comes to learning about BDSM. I have been taken by the hand, and still am from time to time, and I have also brought others in. There is nothing wrong with being new and needing help along the way, but do what you can to help yourself is all we are asking. Google a BDSM term with which you are not familiar. Look up and read a book or two on a certain dynamic or skill you are interested in and then let's get into more complicated and/or hands on stuff. It is no different than what I ask of anyone in any other walk of life and hold myself to the same standard. And what's with all the venom for people you don't even know? lovingpet

I think there is something about having a person share their personal thoughts, feelings and experiences that meets needs that google just can't satisfy. Sometimes the contact through a forum (or an email) lets people know that they aren't all alone. I admit, I have my moments of wondering where do these questions come from but then I remember that on any given day I might be new at something too.
