As someone who has and will continue being a Dungeon Monitor, I'll stop a scene if it gets dicey. Granted I'll stop and watch and think about it, usually get another DM behind me and ask what they think also. But I have no qualms about stopping a scene quickly, if I feel it is warranted even if another DM doesn't think it is. I'd rather have someone mad at me, then someone HURT. Besides, there is a point when as a Dom you know others watching could think your scene maybe getting out of hand, or its very edgy according to the crowd your playing around. You should ALWAYS let a dungeon monitor KNOW what kind of scene your planning, and what the safe word is, ect ect.....

As a DM it's my DUTY to protect the people sceneing, even if it is from themselves.

Sunnyfey,

I admire your sense of duty and I am slightly puzzled that your approach it is not the common view here.

In addition to any moral aspect, there is the sorry matter of the law. In most of Europe and surely in Switzerland, there is a crime called "non assistance à personne en danger"(art. 128 du code pénal). In the Confederation, it carries a penalty of up to three years of prison. Given all the incidents we have in the montains, it is not a law written to decorate the books believe me. I have never heard of anyone going actually in prison, but such a condemnation sure ruins one's career and standing in society.

Kinky regards

Henry

Problem is Falk as someone not in a position of power, therefore DM there are rules we have to adhere to, one often being do not interrupt anothers scene.

I remember on another site a big thread about how uncomfortable women were with 'wankymen' men who watched scenes in public spaces while jacking off. They were well within their rights to do this therefore you can't stop them from doing it. My point being what may make me or you uncomfortable may make another cum in their pants.

My dear Lilly,

we are speaking about two different things here: intervening in a scene and securing a person in danger, BTW a legal requirement where I live.

I visits sometimes Dongeons parties. I actually like it because it is one of this rare occasions where people dress up (or not at all [:D]) The few times I saw a sub in distress, she (or he) used the safeword or safe-movement and they were rescued by their dommes with a diligency that make you wonder if Einstein got it right with the speed of light being absolute. If I do not like a scene (e.g. candle or needles), I simply look away and focus on my wine or chat with other uninterested participants.

As for not being in "a position of power", the meekest person with a portable phone and the ability of pressing 112 (the European 911) has enough power to stop any scene in the world. See Jeffs comment for that. I never felt the necessity to stop any scene and I hope it will remain so.

Maybe you imagine me swinging in a scene with the liane like Tarzan. Grab the liane Jane! the liane Jane not my ... Ohyohoh!
At least now you know that when a Swiss is yoddeling, it is because the Damsell in Distress did not grab the liane, but something else [:D]
