I mean, as a submissive, this really bothers me. There are threads all over the place.....griping about Female Domination failing......griping about where are all the good Doms.....and tons of others. Gripe, gripe, gripe. I've followed those threads and many others all the way through over time and it seems, to me anyway, that the OPs in such threads most of the time show very negative attitudes and, for some strange reason, just can't seem to understand why Someone would not want to snatch them up in a heartbeat. They just can't seem to "get it" that just plain bad attitudes & a me me me approach to searching can have an enormously negative impact on results.

I know I'm probably going to get flamed for posting this but.....oh well. Before anyone says it's easy for me because I have a Dominant, I will say that when I was single, no I did not get on the boards and whine and cry about poor me and how there aren't any decent Dominants out there. So what do the rest of ya'all have to say about this? I'm honestly not trying to cause problems or be a troll, I just had to "get this off my chest."

I do understand what you mean. I'm sure there are glaring examples out there that each of us look at and wonder how in the world we can be in the same category. There are femdoms out there that I would like to smack on the back of the head at times and ask them what the heck they are thinking.

The truth is, they aren't making the whole group that identifies as one type or another look bad. What they are really doing is making the others look good. By muddying themselves up, they are just allowing the brighter ones to seem just a bit shinier.

Thanks all, for all the great posts! I just had to say something about this huge attitude problem that's going on. Those negative types would be so much better off making personal improvements and spiffing up their profiles on a positive note. It may take a little more energy than just bitching and whining, but they'd be so much the better for it. New & improved.

I personally agree to an extent, I feel everyone is different sometimes you meet people who are not as experianced.. subs included. usually the people saying this are people who are looking to explore or possibly be with a dom they were with previously. but not everyone is the same, its ok to talk to a dom about things you want to try... they shouldnt complain... they should just be more open about what the are looking for.

i personally moved to new mexico and even though there are not a lot of doms in my area, i have met plenty that are not on collar me.. so maybe they arent always looking in the right spot for what they need or want.

Well if you got the e-mails I get,you'ld get an attitude too. Its not a dom/sub thing. Its a guys and scammers acting like asses thing. Which ever side of the whip they are on. I am not saying all doms are like thisorall men are like this. The people from here on the forums are mostly all all real. But if I get one more e-mail from a strict and demanding Dom who wants control and to make me do things i dont want in public, but make me cry in public, but he does not play in public dungeons where he can be watched...well I will just scream. Yes, Im jaded and do not have stupid written on my forehead. If this makes me mean and nasty, so be it. When you have been had by online posers who go poof or some scammer, or they could have a malicious intent in meeting you,you too will get smart and a bit wary too.

Of course s-types should be open about what they need/want. I agree whole-heartedly & I'm all for that. But it's the bad attitude part that gets me. There are quite a number of s-types both genders who are just gripey, whiney, oh-poor-me because they can't seem to attract the Dom/mes they want, and if they'd just look in the mirror they'd know why. It's not exclusively a kink thing that, to attract the people you want to, a positive, non-selfish attitude works wonders. And a willingness to serve and be pleasing is just too-obvious a good idea if you want to be an in-demand s-type, one would think anyway.

Have to agree with that one. Never could stomach whiners, even in my own brood. Takes too much energy that could be better focused elsewhere.

Luscious, I do understand totally. I've gotten those same kinds of letters and it just drove me bonkers. When I was brand-new on here, I got a LOT.....from scammers, wankers, on-your-knees-bitch-now Doms, HNG male subs who wanted me to Domme them, Doms who I wouldn't sub to so they wanted me to Domme them, on-liners who go poof into nowhere. I even got dumped by an on-liner who went poof into nowhere which is why I swore against ever doing on-line again. I just had to keep blocking & deleting. It's hard to not get jaded as you call it. But the difference between the ones with the bad attitudes and how I reacted was, I didn't get on-line, bitch and moan, and blame everyone else because the Dom of my dreams hadn't snatched me up yet.

I tend to find whining undignified, I'd rather rage instead, lol!
Wait, I was whining a bit earier but that was to a very special someone.
Anyway...
Moreso than on the boards, such behavior irks me in profiles. I tire quite quickly, when I peruse profiles, of people going on about how there are so many fakes, rant about what they don't want, etc. rather than speaking positively and giving a sense of what they do what. They certainly give a sense of who they are and it's off-putting.

Everybody needs to vent sometimes. And if having a nice rant gets it all out and allows them to move forward, then where's the harm? Or have you never had a bad day and needed to rant and moan?

Long term complainers are different. But being able to look unflinchingly in the mirror and see the reality of that image is a damn hard thing to do. Almost as hard as the next step. Changing what you see.

Beyond the whole D/s relations and all the drama, this is a forum. This is a place where people can be heard, and people are whiny. So forums of all kinds will always have their whiners.

Except for technical support. People with REAL problems are too busy giving the info the techs need to solve it to actually whine about it.
