I got here waaaaaaaay too late in the thread, but.....I have not yet been out around other kink people yet, but I would ask Sir ahead of time how He wishes me to address others and that is what I would do. Whatever He tells me to do.

As for getting on my knees and giving blow-jobs, kneeling etc. for anyone other than my Sir, that would also be up to Him. I would do what my Sir told me to. :)

For the same reason I would not curtsey in the presence to the Queen of England, I would not call a Dominant not my own Master or Lord. I am not their subject. I was brought up to call my elders "sir" or "ma'am" and I still do that fairly regularly. If placed in a club situation where someone seemed insistent upon being called Master Buttcrack or some such, I would manage the situation so I was not in a position to have to call them anything at all. Of course if my Dominant asked me to call them "Master Buttcrack" I would of course be more than happy to comply, to please and obey my Dominant.

As has been stated before, I call people I meet at clubs, parties, etc. by their first names, regardless of what side of the slash they are on. I'm Southern, so good manners are key. I would not let my kids call an adult by his/her first name and act like they are on the same level as that grown-up. Most of the people from the boards know that when I'm on the phone with them and the wild things ask who I'm talking to, I say, "Miss (first name)" or "Mr. (first name)." That's just the way it is.

There are many sub types who address DaddyBoo as "Sir" right from the bat. It doesn't bother me, it's actually rather sweet. I do not address their D types as such, because I may not feel that the person has earned that from me, or perhaps it's because I'm switchy that I feel like I shouldn't. There have been 2 gentlemen who have received "Sir" from me from the very start. One is John Warren, when we spoke on the phone for his research, and the other is a gentleman from the club who is amazing with a bullwhip and whose play style I have drooled over for years. DB asked this man to whip me at my birthday party in May, as a surprise to me, and it was all I could do to maintain myself from becoming giddy, while DB looked on and smiled. Mr. Bullwhip got "Sir" from the start. He is amazing, shows tremendous care and knowledge of what he does, and was very deserving of that "title."

On the flip side, if some crazy chick comes up and says, "Hi, Daddy" to DB... she will hear from both of us that she is waaaayyy out of line. Our two past sub girls knew that "Daddy" was reserved for me, "Sir" was fine for them.

My prize possession and I are not active in the community scene, but she does have non-play acquaintances on the D/ side of the aisle that I permit her to keep in contact with. The symbolism of her calling anyone else one of "my" names offends me greatly, and adds nothing to O/our relationship. W/we are not Gorean, and I understand how that changes protocol for some, but this is my 2 cents, not someone else's.
On the other hand, her possibly being impolite reflects badly on me, and calling someone what they want to be called is a basic and reasonable politeness. In written communication M. (or Mr.), S. or D. are acceptable as part of a name, but seeing as she is permitted no other dominants, using such abbreviations elsewhere in a written communication would be inappropriate. There is no reason why she would be talking verbally with any other dominant in any fashion though, so we have no in-person protocol mapped out. If I introduce her to a top friend, I will guide her in how I wish him/her addresses.

I would only use honorifics if Master required it. At work it's usually just "May I help you?", "How can I help you?". I'm looking right at them. They know who I'm speaking to...no need for anything more than that.

I do however call Master "Sir" in public when I can 't call him Master. To anyone else though I'm just the average, ordinary Jane.

I would do what he told me to do (i.e. blowjobs), but probably would not call that person "Sir". I have a hard enough time calling him "Sir".

If I had a Master and he required me to use honorifics, I would gladly do so.

Now, would I be compatible with a Master that required this?
