Clubs and public/semi-public scenes - 8/19/2009 11:00:13 PM

Hello,

I live in LA, and I'm curious about clubs, and the people who do public/semi-public scenes. I'd like to find out more, and I think, I might even want to try this, but for now, I want to just find out what's going on. Is the right first step to visit a club and see what they do, or should I approach someone who does this personally, and ask for introductions that way?

If I should start by going to a club and seeing what the score is, if anyone could recommend LA clubs which are friendly to those who are new to the whole thing, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

-- j

Absolutely. Let Kane know that you're new and he'll take you around and make you feel comfortable.

kim and I are members of Lair De Sade, and enjoy our occasional trips there. We play publicly, since we enjoy being watched. The facilities are very nice, clean and well-equipped, and yes, Kane is a good guy, and the people are pretty friendly.

The best way to start is to attend one of their Insights, a non-play Saturday afternoon open house and discussion sessions- you can get in without being a member, and get to know the place without the pressure of scening.

Welcome, and best of luck.

The Lair's a great place to start, and Merc listed most of the regular dungeons.  There's also Dragon's Gate in OC,

http://www.dragonsgatestudios.com/main_set.html

If the 'clubbing' scene is more your style and you enjoy goth/industrial tones to your fun, you can also check out Club Hell this coming Wednesday (and every last Wednesday of the month)

http://www.industry-la.com/

There's also FetishNation, every second Saturday at Circus

http://www.myspace.com/fetishnation

And Bar Sinister, every Saturday

http://www.barsinister.net/home.php

That's probably about as exhaustive of a list as you'll find of regular events.

Stephan

Thank you all. It sounds like I've got a fun little bit of research to do =)
Unfortunately, I'm about to be out of area for a brief family obligation, but as soon as I get back I'll start down a few of these paths and see where they lead.

Once again, Thank you. It's much appreciated. :)

Hi.

I love doing bdsm in public with a sub but only if the sub is into it. Makes it more fun if we're both having a good time.

Try munches and parties first and then see if you can handle doing it in public.

Hope this helps.

Come up to San Francisco and the Silicon Valley where you can experience the Citadel and Edges (and, I'm sure, a few others I don't know about).

PS: No more the venerable Power Exchange (love it or hate it, it's gone for good) ...

I have to 4th... no, 5th...wait... 6th? the Lair De Sade. I've only been there twice, as I'm not local, but really liked the facilities and atmosphere. As has been said, Kane is a good guy and very newb friendly.

I have heard good things about "Passive Arts". I do believe it is in the LA vicinity.
