To be honest, I'm sick and tired of these 'tribute' threads. Another one has run into multiple pages because ONE female dominant decided to post about the extravagant and outrageously expensive gifts her own male sub can afford.

Looking from the outside, as a female sub, it totally squicks me that a female dom equates the expensive gifts her own sub lavishes on her as a standard for other male subs to have to live up to.

Seriously.

Yeah, I'm under the impression that a maledom would get trashed pretty good for writing a post like that over on ask a master.

Is it wrong for a Pro to advertise?

I think that it may be against the terms of service: "4.3. You may not use the Website to advertise products or services, nor may You use the Website in order to solicit products or services, unless otherwise permitted by collarme.com."  [sm=dunno.gif] I suppose if someone has a problem with it they can always report the profile.

I don't find the idea of a pro-domme offensive, though I do find it mildly so to find them advertising on CM for free and then complaining about the replies they get. I realize that a good business will take free publicity wherever they can find it, but if you are going to come onto what is in effect a free dating site and advertise your business then you have to expect a little negative feedback. You get what you pay for girls, and you take the good with the bad. Your whining about it is both pointless and unseemly. If you don't like the sort of response you advertisement is getting from CM, well then pull your ad and demand your money back. Or better yet create a website and pay CM to put up an ad with a link to your site.....oh wait, that would actually cost you money wouldn't it.

What I still don't understand is how it works.. I mean why would any man.. or woman.. PAY someone to use and abuse them.. or whatever... If someone wanted me to do things for them.. I'd be like you pay me.. not me pay you to boss me around.. I don't see how men and women can honestly PAY to be a slave to someone.. its just not sane really.. Are people really that desperate or just that dumb and ignant..

SweetNika -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/21/2009 6:28:22 AM)

Judgemental and insulting much?

People go to Pros for LOTS of reasons it's honestly no different than you choosing to pay a professional to cut your hair or provide you with any other personal service.

Totally agree with you, GotSteel. I'm not as eloquent as some of you and I can freely admit that without whining. [8D]

But, I am pretty sure that if a male dom started a tribute thread that the responses would be something along the lines of him being equal to a pimp. Hmmm. Not the best way to describe what I'm trying to say, but close enough for me. [:D]

Lack of available play partners.
Married to someone else and not available for a dynamic.
Proficiency in skill (hopefully).
Getting a particular kink met.

Those are just a few.

ETA   To the OP's question.  I think some view it the same way as they would an escort service on a vanilla dating site.  That's just a guess.

I know several male doms in our community who have no problem sitting on their ass at home while their female submissive goes to work and pays the bills. They just don't admit it on the forums.

Thanks for your input. In my ten years of being in this life style, I've yet to encounter a male dom who required that their slave be the only sole provider in a male/female sub relationship.

Granted, whenever I've relocated to be with a male dom, I haven't sat on my ass expecting HIM to support me. I've relocated twice to be with a male dom. I never sat on my ass and didn't get a job to help with the household bills.

Now, I'm in a relationship where the male dom I'm with doesn't want me to work. I would gladly work if he desired it. My situation, right now, is that he doesn't need or want me to work. His main concern is that I be a full time house maid for his needs.

Maybe some of you will call that 'tribute'. Just me, but I don't consider doing as my dominant wants me to do as 'tribute'. I consider it obeying his orders.

But, damn. What do I know?

cloudboy -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/21/2009 4:42:52 PM)

No. Long as you don't bait and switch, I think you're A-OK.

Arillis -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/22/2009 5:13:14 PM)

Along with the word pro should come a discernable measure of sophistication and demonstrated levels of expertise, not just an unending sequential series of unsubstantiated allegations supported by other pros doing exactly the same thing.

pyroaquatic -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/22/2009 7:40:33 PM)

I understand what he means but you take less RAM to process, DarkSteven. LOL.

Over-materialistic and 'Support-Me'....
are two HUGE turn-offs for me I have come to realize.

I read these things on these profiles and I hide them immediately.

If you are given everything what makes my tribute valuable to her?
How does being supported prove that one has strength?

Sorry if I'm dragging this out, I've just seen a lot of threads here address this, and I get TONS of angry emails about it. Dudes calling me a gold digger, whore, fancy prostitute, etc. I don't solicit or seek out slaves on Collarme, I only respond to inquiries. I've tried making my profile as non bait-n-switchy as possible.

If men are sore about tributes, why are they talking to Pro's? I'm just saying - I wouldn't call a therapist, schedule an appointment, and then expect a free session based on my looks and charm. I'd call a friend who will listen to my problems for free.

Is it really that offensive for a pro to advertise her services on CM?

Actually, this is why I rarely respond to those threads that want to "clean up" the site from pros and the like.

I am not a pro, but I know from experience that there are tons of people on here that no matter what your profile says they will contact you because they think they are "so" special that you will go against what you are looking for and bow down to whatever they want.

When I was searching I had as plain as day that I was looking for long term, lifestyle and I got tons of emails from guys wanting me to cyber, session, fufill their fantasy, etc.   Nevermind I plainly stated that is not what I was looking for, I was supposed to trash what I wanted just because they deemed to email me.

Take those threads with a grain of salt.  Most don't even freakin read profiles, they just look at pics and mass email.

I know some pro dommes and they are just like you, and most dommes here, we don't have much time to cruise profiles and email people, "they" email "us" and then get angry when they don't get their way.

Unless, like me, you want to read the funny flames on those thread just ignore them

I don't think it's dumb or ignorant, just something not everyone is into.  It's just like guys that like being kicked in the balls...it's their kink, they like it, it gets them going

It's not my thing either, and I don't understand it either, but since I'm not into it I don't give it much thought, I really don't need to understand....good luck to them

This part I, along with most others agree with.  The same could be said for us lifestyle types, too.

Arillis -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/23/2009 7:35:22 AM)

I believe you have in that short paragraph said more then has been said in everything written on this topic.
I know of no man who has not felt a sense of responsibility in upgrading and maintaining a financial worry free tranquil happy environment for the woman he is emotionally bound to. In fact, the sense of protectiveness is instinctive in the male and the passion to insure her well being rages within him. But that has absolutely nothing at all to do with D/s or the demands for dollars. I like you found no challenge or conflict with lavishing the woman in my life with her slightest whim and found great pleasure in doing so. In fact, I was even selfish about it and often bought her jewelry and apparel without telling her. I just put them in her jewelry box or hung them in her closet or put them in her underwear drawer because I wanted her to have them but if she would have demanded on dime from me...my buying her things would have come to a screeching halt and frankly before the words of demand were out of her mouth I would have been gone regardless of my emotional attachment. A woman can take the man out of manhood but no woman can take the manhood out of the man.

Who cares what they think or say. You're here for the subs that do not want a relationship.
I get the same shit from those, I want something for nothing wanker cry babies...
