Tents are for Pussy's the only gear you really need is a coomfy worn coat fit nuff to die in ,a working zippo, some booze and maybe some water for chaser, and a really really large knife

*smacks Pyro* Stop sounding like such a...a...MAN, damnit!

Women need certain things when camping.

-Bug free environment
-Porcelain
-Lack of insects
-flushing toilet
-no bugs
-faucets

Two words.....Holiday Inn.

That is the coolest thing I've seen in ages. If I were ages younger, I'd have that and roam the country. At least in my dreams.

Knowing there is a real firearm around the campsite is a good thing.

Dryer lint is one of the most incredible firestarting materials you will ever find.  Put the wad from a load of towels in a sandwich baggie and it's probably all you will need.

Rain ponchos are inexpensive.  They are sold as really big black plastic trash bags .  Add head and arm holes to suit

Take a hat, and warm socks, and don't be afraid to wear them if you get cold.

Have fun, and light the whole marshmallow on fire before blowing it out, and eating just the crispy outside.  Repeat.

You know, sometimes there really is a good reason to have men around. I'll leave the fire arms and hard laboring to the men in the group. Yep, if all else fails, will pull out the Damsel card. What? What? I should be above it? Why would I be given all this T&A if it wasn't meant to be put to use fot the benefit of woman kind? Just sayin.

But I will carry a big knife. [:D] , A gun, I'll probably manage to shoot myself.

LadyRR..

I hope you have a blast.. I've always wanted to camp on the beach, but finding a place that ALLOWS it has been difficult (at least at ocean beaches....).

hizgeorgiapeach -> RE: Tents, Camping (8/21/2009 11:04:24 AM)

There is no such thing as weather to cold to camp in......

(says the woman who has a propane driven catalytic heater for insid her tent for winter camping, and has been known to camp in 2 feet of snow... )

LaTigresse -> RE: Tents, Camping (8/21/2009 11:25:12 AM)

I have camped in all sorts of weather, in all sorts of sad little tents, the back end of a pickup with and without a topper, on a cot inside my horse trailer (most comfortable), on a cot next to my truck with a tarp tossed over me, in a lawnchair next to the campfire (wasn't exactly my intention but.......) in the back seat of my truck (was actually pretty comfy), in a dome tent in a horrible thunderstorm that swamped the tent...(and that was the LAST time I camped!!!)

Now, if I am going camping, http://www.airstream.com/ is what it is going to take!

rikigrl -> RE: Tents, Camping (8/21/2009 11:31:42 AM)

Kept in a well sealed zip lock bag!

LdyyR -> RE: Tents, Camping (8/21/2009 12:49:25 PM)

Only kind of camping I'll be doing during winter months is inside a cambin. Not a cold weather kind of gal. The warmer the climate, the happier I am. Hate the cold with a passion. But did enjoy sliding down a hills on a snowsled years back when the bod could take such abuse. Lived in Tampa for three years, it does get very cold many times in the winter at night.

Oh and have toilet paper will travel. Some things are a given. [:)]
