ORIGINAL: BKSir so, if the minimum is 3.5 years, why didn't he get 3.5 years or more? Now, I'm all for the right to own a firearm, but, the law is very simple. Where is was at, it is illegal to have one, it's also illegal, even in the most "gun friendly" states, to take one into a bar or nightclub. It's not a question of "is that law right or not?", that's entirely academic. He broke the law, end of discussion, period. Why didn't he get the minimum sentence or more? That's what I want to know. Plea deal. The rich and their lawyers can often broker a better plea agreement than the minimum sentences required, otherwise there'd be no incentive to plead guilty. True... I was actually leaning toward the whole "celebrity" thing, but, that makes sense too. :)
