Status: offline 		well, he took us off the gold standard, got everything but a paper signed by congress for his impeachment......., you probably wont find anything under Richard Nixon, try searching Tricky Dicky and you will be innundated, but he probably wasn't anywhere as bad as Reagan even with all that on his resume.

The point is that Obama can do absolutely no wrong in the eyes of his true believers, not matter how low or troubling. No amount of evidence could possibly convince them, there is nothing that can ever shake their faith.

Welcome to reality. Guess what though the true believers of George W thought he could never do any wrong.

The problem comes when people think anyone who does not agree with how bad the person is and assigns true believer status to anyone that does not believe their viewpoint. The fact is most people in this country do not think of Obama as a savior or the devil and the people on either side of is he the devil or the savior we find foolish and ignorant.

Like I said before, Obama's henchmen really are going after Beck, and Obama really did personally go after Limbaugh. This kind of despicable behavior is something we might expect to see in a tiny Banana Republic somewhere, but this is a whole new low for a politician here.

No, dispicable behavior in a politician is probably best exemplified by Dick Cheney, but hes not the only one.

And according to the world, and the polls and general consensus, nobody is going to hammer-drill into the low of George W Bush.

You know, Sanity, that could be said about "true believers" everywhere, regardless of what belief motif they stamp on their foreheads. In listening to you on many occasions, there is that sense that perhaps -you- are a "true believer" as well. I know that I am on some issues, and acknowledge that I have a pretty distinct framework of biases (though I do try to remain open to contrary evidence, even when it rankles at first).

Sanity, I've seen you, with my own eyes, refuse to accept valid evidence when it contradicted your beliefs -- so I'd stand far away from the panes of your glass house while busy throwing stones at others.

When government comes after its citizens for expressing dissent or free speech, it should be troubling to everyone witnessing it, including you. Organizing For America and SEIU are hitting town halls to try to intimidate anyone expressing dissent against this White House, and now we have the president's associates organizing boycotts of Glenn Beck.

Stay tuned for new FCC rules and regulations as well, coming to a radio station near you. The fairness doctrine isn't dead, its just been renamed "localization".

Interesting times.

Status: offline 		Regardless of your ideas to the contrary, Mr. President is also a private citizen. The 'government' is not going after this shitweasel, friends of Obama are coming to his aid. Hell, even GWB had apologists Sanity. You and I aren't particularly good friends but we have had less than antagonistic conversations, one or two private as I recall, and I have (believe it or not) agreed and defended an occasional stance you have taken. That hardly qualifies as the full and total might of the 'Largest BDSM community on the planet' raining down on someones head..

The thing that will put Glenn Beck head down and ass up is the lack of sponsors, and I can't think of a goddamn thing that the ENTIRE FUCKIN' US GOVERNMENT could do to dissuade Clorox or Wal-Mart to quit sponsoring the program.

I do believe in freedom of speech, but stuffing a fuckweasel down the shithole is not an abridgement of it.

When ones core beliefs are threatened it is often reasonable to invent a conspiracy theory rather than drop such a belief.  This umm personal brainwashing is done in the name of sanity and self preservation.  If such theories were not adopted the person with the irrational belief would be forced to admit they were wrong - very few people have such strength.  Although I do not agree I understand the logic behind it.

As we are seeing here, have seen with health care and other issues.  Why we should care is people with the same irrational beliefs get together and sound board ideas off each other.  If there are enough of them the belief just might become true as with any mass delusion(Bandwaon Fallacy).When their community reaches a consensus(this belief is true) they present the stories to others outside as if  they are logical.  Often they are shocked, dismayed and offended when such views are marginalized leading to emotional outbursts(TownHall) social friction(TownHall) or violence.  We just happen to be addressing the core belief system of Sanity.

You've got a trillion dollars being spent on wars with no end in sight, 10% unemployment and rising, a guaranteed 'best case' $9 Trillion deficit; and a talking head is concerning?

If its not an attempt at distraction its a sad representation of focus. Almost as bad as talking about Bush, Clinton, Carter or, if you are Nancy Pelosi, "disrupting Nazi protesters".

I sure Mr Beck is happy for the press coverage - its insured his bonus and pay raise. Kinda counter productive - like a 'Stimulus' that stimulated paying the failure executives their bonuses, and did nothing to stop one foreclosure or prevent one lay off.

Yup - unless another Michael Jackson dies - we'll be seeing more of these 'serious' issues brought to the forefront. Not much 'bread' to distribute but plenty of 'circus' acts to keep the masses distracted.

BTW - Who is Glen Beck and why is he important?

And that's why there was an earlier question about, "Has the president said anything to people in his own party?" There are reminders to all Americans that they need to watch what they say, watch what they do, and this is not a time for remarks like that; there never is.

Yes because it is a distraction and not really that important.

Because I am tired of seeing the same comments recycled on twenty different threads about healthcare, the deficit, and Obama, and the stimulus.

Just like you did in your post above.  I've seen you post the same on I don't know how many different threads.

It's gotten to the point around here where we are discussing the same issues under different guises and saying the exact same things.
