I read so many threads and posts about people complaining about how this FREE site is run. In my opinion considering that the Moderators are volunteers and not paid employees I think they do a wonderful job on both sides. My question though is if CollarMe began to charge in order to fix some of the issues and to screen members for age, ect would you stay or would you go? Why or why not?

Yes, I would definitely pay. There are a few things I don't like about the place, but by and large I think it's a terrific resource, a lot of people worked really hard to put it together and continue to work hard to keep it up, and that's costing somebody money. I believe that when someone works that hard to provide a service that so many people find useful, they deserve to get paid for it. If they decide to start charging, I'm down with it.

I would go. I don't think it's worth paying for a membership if you're only there to look around and not necessarily with intentions of finding somebody. I doubt I would go for it even though I was actively looking, basically 'cause I believe I can just as well find somebody out in the real world and don't need the internet for that purpose.

I would stay as long as the CONCEPT of CollarMe Stayed. If this became a Hard Core Sex Hook-up Site then No, I don't think I would. And it would have to be affordable. Sadly what would happen is that women would get to come on for free and men would have to pay and I just don't that is right or fair but it is the nature of business you would have to make the place be a place someone would want to pay for and that means having an ample amount of the desired gender, and deny it all you want if there are women there will be someone to pay to be around them. Just a remark about the "FREE" the OP put in capitals. There is propably ad in come. Not meaning this disrepectfull towards the volenteers and such, but there is no reason to feel pity also. We choose to be here and they chose to have us here. A website is always a 2 way road. And yes I might donate or pay for CM. I do that for other forums too, to keep them running ( or to keep the ads away).

No, I wouldn't pay to use collarme. I am not here to meet any one and I use the forums for fun, and even if I was searching there's a few other places just as nice if not nicer that are free, I do not have the money to waste on frivolous* to me* stuff such as website memberships.

I would stay. CM has turned out to be a wonderful networking resource for Me and I've met a lot of people here that I might not have otherwise. Plus, I absolutely prefer this forum structure to that of fetlife.

I just come here for the forums, so I probibly would not pay to stay. I would miss some of the people though.

I doubt I would stay. What can I say? I am tight with my money. I come here to make time pass faster when things are slow and I have to be at my desk. Or when I want to just sit, and zone out on the weekend. I am a value for dollar, kind of person. I am not on the site to find anyone. I can always find something to occupy myself with.

There's no evidence that this is solely a non-profit making community resource. Which is fine. People have to make a living. I would not pay. I can get a forum like this free in many places. In terms of personals on the other side I want to find the best man and like the fact this site is free so men do not have to make the decision to pay every so often or go poof so when I placed my ad I got a chance for the most possible matches to be on a site like this and not just the men who paid for these months then waits awhile before doing it again. Sorry but fakes, players and any other derogatory term are pretty darn easy to spot and do not waste much time. The ones to me that may cause some damage, make frustration grow or waste time often are people lying to themselves more then trying to lie to others and these people would not be eliminated by paying.

I would definately leave. I don't use the other side except for emails to/from specifically friends here on the fora. I don't use any of the fora that are strictly bdsm topics - just the general stuff that (frankly) I can and do find on other non-pay sites. There would be literally no reason for me to bother staying.

Reading other people's ideas, debating issues, poking sharp sticks at trolls, is not worth the price of admission, to me. For SOME people, looking for a S.O., or doing the above, is.
