Actually the Answer to my Patern was a Mathamatical one.

Everyone missed it.

Yes there is more than one answer but what was sugested was not mathamatical.

you can go from one number to the next with a simple pattern.

In the First Set it was +2 X2 So 1 + 2 X 2 = 6 + 2 X 2 = 16

The second set was 3 + 4 X 2 - 1 = 13 + 4 X 2 - 1 = 33

If you carry the pattern on you never have to stop using the calculator or do other math to keep the pattern going.

But that you all for paying.

And fluffypet your series are in Alphabetical Order

Just as

OTTFFSSENT Is in Numerical Order

I would have said that it is n+1, but it does not work on the 16. 

1 + 1 = 2
2 + 2 = 4
4 + 3 = 7
7 + 4 = 11
11 + 5 = 16
16 + 6 = 22 (but the next in YOUR series is 23)
23 + 7 = 30 (and now it works again)
30 + 8 = 38
38 + 9 = 39
39 + 10 = 49 (Here it does not work again, your series says 47)
47 + 10 = 57 (the 10 is repeted)
57 + 11 = 68
68 + 12 = 80

So I am stumped for now.

You got it right I screwed up on the 23 which should have been 22 but you got the pattern correct

Had I not screwed up my own math the pattern was supposed to be.

YAY!  I got it.  Even if I screwed up typing out the math.  LOL.  (I thought that there was only the one off when I looked at it, then when I typed it out, it did not work ~  ALWAYS check your work!)

I do love puzzles.  I used to buy those books of "logic puzzles" all the time to work.  I don't know why I haven't in such a long time.  Perhaps I will put one on my shopping list.  [:)]
