Philosophically, once your health becomes a public concern, absolutly everything you do becomes the public concern. We should be clear about this. Absolutly everything you do affects your health. I use to oppose National Health, but no longer do. Obama wants to link all the records that are relevant to our health (which is absolutly everything), and have it available online, where it will of course be absolutly protected , and could never be used against you in any way. ORIGINAL: rightwinghippie Perhaps, RWH, President Obama wants to keep things like this from happening: http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/06/16/health.care.hearing/ To summarize, a woman was diagnosed with breast cancer and approved for a double mastectomy to treat it. Three days before her surgery, the insurance company decided that, due to a treatment she had for acne in 2008, a mistatement on her weight on her application and the omission of a medicine that she was not taking at the time of her application, her coverage was rescinded. Just maybe he has the idea that if all one's medical records were transcribed, stored in one place and easily accessible, that this would not happen with such frequency. Nahhhh...far more reasonable to assume he has this grand idea that he can deny republicans health care coverage and so keep democrats in power forever as the republicans will be too sick to vote. Oh..and as to your other question, for my part, if a person was in need of a kidney transplant and it was my responsibility to judge their candidacy for such, I would not be affected by their political affiliation at all. We are not enemies. The fact that you can bring this up at all, combined with your statement that you would have supported this bill if the party you favored was in power when it was passed seems to indicate a party vs party mentality that is not healthy for the country or it's citizens.
