ORIGINAL: kttqnp When I worked with the public, it was the people who would not get off their cell phones for the short time it took to perform a retail transaction. Once, when I told a woman I would be glad to help her when she finished her call, she stomped off, saying into her cell, "This woman won't wait on me because I'm on the phone!" How about the many CLERKS who are on the cell phone throughout the transaction? Of course, that is equally annoying and should not be tolerated by management. Where I worked, we were routinely "mystery shopped" (spied upon) and the supervisor's bonus depended on our scores, so being on the phone during a transaction would result in discipline. One reason why I am no longer in the retail sector of our business.
