Beethoven's Ode to Joy

That's the about the only piece of classical I can listen to and enjoy in its' original form. However, almost everything Trans-Siberian Orchestra "covers" is music I can really get into.

Oh HELL YEAH!!

Theyre coming to town.. I cant afford to go, dammit.

Ok, now I'm curious. Who did Lacrymos or however it is spelled? Is it a small part of the Mozart piece mentioned earlier?

Faure's Pavane. Haunting, delicate, strong.

Ah, one I know...and love. The first time I heard that one was in the last year or so, it was the Eccentric Opera's interpretation. I don't know if their version differs much from the original. I will have to find out!

ROFL! That's a classical piece? My dominant used to sing those three words at the top of his lungs (and he had very loud lungs) at certain humorous times.

Ok, I've got to give it a listen now.

This thread is giving me lots of new things to listen to. Once in a while I can hear a piece of music in my head when I see it suggested, but most of these are new to me.

One name I did recongize is Trans-siberian Orchestra. I like their interpretations a lot. (I also, unfortunately, see a picture in my head with when I see that name: that silly Christmas house with its wildly flashing lights display!)

Hmm... I wonder if I will scrub harder when I hear it. I certainly hope not!

Thanks for the answer. ;)

Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky. I used to play classical music with a symphony orchestra and I loved performing this. Anything by Handel was also a blast to play- lots of movement to keep the interest.
