LesterBurnham -> Greetings from the Christian Right (2/26/2006 1:05:07 PM)

What a difference a decade makes. Alittle over 10 years ago, I was a devout, active Christian. I led the fight in a major American city to oppose gay-sensitive counselors being able to talk to questioning or LGBT youth in high school and also tried to combat a city domestic partnership ordinance. I wanted to combat "the gay agenda" and glorify Christ. Now I'm a proud member of the Collar Me community. And I'm ashamed of what I did in "god's name". I thank goddess for the sex-positive pioneers who kept on plugging despite the misguided efforts of people like me to superimpose a one-sized fits all sexual identity for everybody. I'd like to spend what remains of my life trying to repair the harm I did, and offer the idea that no matter how hard line your vanilla relatives are, they can change and become more tolerant and accepting. They can mellow. They can truly see the light. I did.

I'm m/50/Kent, WA--proud Sub.

Welcome to Collarme. I think we need all the former members of the Christian Right that we can get.

Shwa -> RE: Greetings from the Christian Right (2/26/2006 1:38:19 PM)

You now, it's perfectly acceptable to practise a Christian faith and still involve yourself in the BDSM lifestyle.

Lord knows I do.

JohnWarren -> RE: Greetings from the Christian Right (2/26/2006 2:08:16 PM)

It's called growth and it's a good thing. Welcome!

Hi neighbor! It's nice to get emails from youngsters like you.

Love, Lester.

Hello neighbor...

LesterBurnham -> RE: Greetings from the Christian Right (2/26/2006 3:27:39 PM)

Greetings to you, SirSerious. Health and happiness be yours.

MHOO314 -> RE: Greetings from the Christian Right (2/26/2006 3:50:27 PM)

dear one, there is nothing wrong with a religious affiliation at all, in or out of the life---it is when we show intolerance that we err--welcome to the warmth of the sun and the light.

LesterBurnham -> RE: Greetings from the Christian Right (2/26/2006 3:57:34 PM)

Right on, Thanks for the good word.

subtlesubie -> RE: Greetings from the Christian Right (2/27/2006 6:19:28 PM)

This doesn't seem fair. You have long ago abrogated your right to enjoy these freedoms. It's like Tim Eyeman going on welfare. The hypocrisy is hard to take.

LesterBurnham -> RE: Greetings from the Christian Right (2/27/2006 6:25:20 PM)

I don't think it's your place to tell me what rights I have or don't have.

People grow and change. I'm not much for religion but I think the concept of "redemption" that seems to be common to most of them is one of the great ideas of humanity.

You've written a nice introduction.
I think you will give pause to many who think they are tolerant and accepting, but just can't seem to get a clue.
Welcome to this corner of the world.

LesterBurnham -> RE: Greetings from the Christian Right (2/27/2006 8:01:00 PM)

Thanks KatyLied. I really appreciate you and your attitude.

Health and Happiness be yours.

In honor of your screename:

-----

"What are you doing!"

"Nothing"

"You were materbating!"

"I was not."

"Yes, you were."

"Oh alright, so shoot me! I was wacking off, that's right. I was CHOKING THE BISHOP, CHAFFING THE CARROT, saying hello to my MONSTER."

"That's DISGUSTING!"

"Well excuse me, one of us still has blood pumping through our vains!"

"So do I!"

"Really? Well, I'm the only one who seems to be doing anything about it."

"Lester, I refuse to live like this, this is not a marriage."

"This hasn't been a marriage for years, but you were happy so long as I kept my mouth shut. Well guess what? I've changed, and the new me whacks off when he feels horney because you're obvioulsy not going to do anything to help out in that department."

-----

Now, can anyone guess the film?

LesterBurnham -> RE: Greetings from the Christian Right (2/27/2006 8:30:42 PM)

Cloudboy: THAT WAS AWESOME. Did you remember that whole scene from memory? I won't guess because I obviously know what film my name is from.

My whole goal right now is to find My Mistress and avoid retired closeted marine corps officers with nazi plate collections.

Take care.

jocelyn -> RE: Greetings from the Christian Right (2/28/2006 3:26:13 PM)

Welcome, welcome! It's never to late to recognize a good lesson and I'm certain you'll run into many in the lifestyle who've passed through one stage of religious fervor or another. You're in the right part of the world, too. The community is active in our corner of the country so you'll find lots of outlets for your discovery process.

You'll enjoy the crew here at collarme, too. Like all communities, there are people of every flavor and intensity. I hope you enjoy the search!

jocelyn
