My cats are constantly getting abscesses in the mouth and throat areas from licking themselves and getting sticker-prickers caught in their mouth. Usually it swells up, looks awful for a week or two, then pops itself. I always keep Keflex on hand and I have the correct dosage charts so I can avoid having to take them to the vet every time. With as many kitties as I have, I'd be bankrupt if I always took them to the vet. So it could just be something like that, which is why the antibiotics have been prescribed. As long as she doesn't get worse, just let her decide on her activity level. Cats are pretty savvy about taking care of themselves! Best of luck on this clearing up easily! Rosie...who is already bucking for her town's Crazy Cat Lady title!
