ORIGINAL: CarrieO What about the 2 coffee makers I have 'just in case' lol, that line makes me laugh. I am currently involved with a guy whom I met in person in may at my place...at that time I was financially a bit on the edge as I just had not enough work shifts next to my uni times (when I can only work three days a week then I am simply dependent on what shifts are available and it does not help when the great shifts area available on the days where I have to be at uni or placement.) However, already before we met he encouraged me to sell my uni books, the ones which I don't need anymore on amazon or ebay and by that way I got quite some many back in short time (via amazon in particular). Now, the reason why your line made me laugh was because he kept (and still keeps) telling me to sell 2 of my 3 printers and at least one of my 2 breadmakers...I don't have them "just in case" originally, but it happened (my printer did not work anymore, so I bought another one which for whatever reasons I never managed to install - neither via downloaded software nor with the included software - so I bought another one...which again did not work...so I then decided to try something else before buying another printer (my place is also small and I don't want to be living in a warehouse) and at the end just my usb cable was damaged..so a new on of those and my original printer did work again...now, do I sell those 2 printers now??? He wishes I would but I won't...by now it is "just in case" as after all I still have one year uni left and so far I don't know when exactly I will leave this country, so is no point really to sell it now, apart from that I won't get that much for it anyway. Apart from that he also asked me to sell at least one of my breadmakers...now, why do I have two...again I used my normal one but the result which came out was not eatable (I used ready made breadversions from Germany)...so I bought another one...and it did not lead to an eatable result either. After having a closer look on the package I realised those were outdated since quite a few months...so that was the cause ... but does that lead me now the hassle to sell it? Nope, at my current stage of life I can't be bothered to sell it. Whilst this guy and I met he offered me to install my router (whilst I am fairly good with computers I didn't manage to do that one either *sigh*), he asked me what router I do have...so I opened my drawer and realised *shit*...by then he had seen that I have even 2 of those...Now, again..why do I have 2 of those? Well, the first one I bought on ebay but it fell on the floor after I picked it up at the post office. Therefore I was not sure if it maybe does not work because I might have damaged it that way. Therefore I bought another one...but that one did not work either...on top of it I got now a new router from BT which has also the function to be a router for my laptop...so I did not need any of them at the end (though I did not know it originally that my router will break and that I will need a new one). So that guy has now - understandibly - the impression that I sell everything double or triple times...even when that's really the wrong impression about me...I can understand him, but that was just damn coincidence (and with realising that I have even 2 router he felt as having caught me out)...not to mention that I have 4 laptops and a desktop (but there is the difference that whilst I am ok with installing software and such stuff, I am not that good in repairing it when I managed to crash it down...and with uni demands I do need a working one NOW and not weeks later after repairing it...and 2 of them are pretty old by now). Now to your question if I need this and can I let it go. At the moment I am financially ok (not great, but ok) therefore I don't feel any need to sell anything right now (apart from the uni books which I don't need anymore). Also, whilst I plan to leave the UK before the olympics gets here in 2012, so far I have no guarantee for actually doing it (I know I will leave at some point, but not entirely sure yet when as it depends on the fact how my current date and I continue and if we don't continue in the long term then it depends when I have my visa for new zealand which also requires from me to get my degree at uni next year to get it started). So whilst I don't need some of the stuff, a lot of it does not bring so much back now either and in my current life it means more hassle then good, therefore I keep it for now. However, once I know that I will leave england for good then I will sell almost everything that I have to take with me as little as possible and probably donate my fridge freezer and my bed frame to one of the residential homes I am working in. Normally I am not a hording person, I always loved my books and always have many of them but to have items in double triple and even more amounts as described in the beginning was just a recent coincidence in my life.
