Where are you pulling that out of?

We had these massive protests today because spending is NOT 'due to come down' - not by anyone's reckoning.

I didn't see any of the signs you mentioned, Ron, or hear any of those chants. But I did hear and see several slogans which were pretty good. Such as,

"Change It Back".

"Don 't Tax Me, Bro!!!"

"Found In A Dumpster Behind The White House" (The Constitution).

"Clinging To Guns And Religion"

"Next Time READ THE BILL"

Nobody will ever read the bill, they never read any of the bills, but whoever held the sign did not read it, or would not breeze around with fuckwads that are engaging in such idiocy as deathpanels and no healthcare for republicans.

So, anyway there are teabaggers protesting something, everyone fractioning, fractioning the party, everyone going their own way, and nobody thinks the Grand Old Party is floundering? I thought these were organized protests.

Status: offline 		Heya Sanity, I just talked to someone who was in DC, pretty packed at the airport, everyone getting ready for the shoutout there.

I will be interested in the numbers, it will obviously have to be greater numbers with some sustaining interest and over a long period of time, this teabagging, if the republicans are going to take any seats back, last time they did the big meetings like this they elected Obama, which I don't think was in that plan, at all.

Of course, it's nothing compared to "The Million Mom March" back in 2000, that had an attendance of 750,000...

Or we could compare it to last year's Comic Con, which had an attendance of 175,000...

Yup. This "huge protest against Obama" (i.e. a gathering of racist a-holes) was a FRACTION of the size of a yearly comic book/science fiction/gaming convention, whose numbers were down, thanks to the tight economy.

But that's okay, Sanity. It's not the size of what you've got, it's how loudly you shout at the top of your lungs in public, right?

Also, I am against public health-care, but I suppose that I am paid for and by the health care industry well according to your conspiracy theory. But here's a novel idea. Why not address the issue in a personal cmail (since you are addressing me personally) rather than on the boards, ya know, as i have done to you in the past? Obama sucks balls? I didn't know that. My god, this changes my entire outlook on government. I see now that my ideas were wrong, that my reasoning faulty and that my support was cast in the wrong direction. I'm so ashamed. How could I have overlooked the idea that "Obama sucks balls". Well, now on Monday I'm going to have to change my voter registration to Republican, start listening to Rush Limbaugh, and join the Tea Party Movement (never again to be referred to by that lousy, undeserved, leftist term "teabaggers").

Obama sucks balls. The speeches of Patrick Henry, the Gettysburg address. the fireside chats of FDR all can move over now. Reasoned political speech has a new benchmark to aspire to.

I urge all of my former friends on the rabid left wing to join me in this new, enlightened state. The patriots of this country will NEVER allow our land of liberty to be ruined by a president who sucks balls.

Thank you, Sanity for being the voice of reason who has saved me from wasting time examining issues, discussing them,  and coming to conclusions. Now that I know that "Obama sucks balls", my life is forever changed and I am truly ready to join the right wing.

Status: offline 		Having heard reports about the speeches, read the signs, etc. used in this demonstration, I have to tip my hat to the demonstrators. I have seen nothing that they did that is in any way beyond the envelope of reasonable political discourse or action. I would personally be very happy if all the current political discourse from both sides never fell below this level.

I feel quite comfortable saying to those who demonstrated and those who agree with them, "I may not agree with a thing you say, but I will defend to my death your right to say it."

Let us hope that this demonstration in some way helps to elevate the discussion and demonstrations on political issues up from the gun-toting, swistika waving disgraces to a reasonable society that we have seen demonstrated in recent months.
