Dear rain and Lumas. I know that you are a loving couple and I am sure this is just a bump in the road as any married couple will have. Marriage is hard work. What I hope for you guys is that this will open a dialogue and will bring you closer together. Obviously trust will need to be worked on on both sides. Perhaps Rain didnt trust Lumas enough and this will have to be worked on. Perhaps now Lumas's faith has been shaken. But I think that when you work your way through this you will be stronger and closer for the work you will do. Your bond will be even stronger than it is today.

Sounds like an excellent idea, Sunny!

However, I'm wondering if she wants support. Her OP stated that she had been instructed to make apologies and she did that wonderfully.

My hope is that the two of them are able to work this situation out as both of them seem an ideal match for each other. I'm always saddened to see bumps in the road in any relationship. On the other hand, a bump or two in the road doesn't always signal the end of a relationship.

I'm hoping for the best for both of them. And Rain very eloquently expressed her regret and made her apologies as ordered.

I knew right away the "friend" was Holly because that's the type of person she is. Holly, you did what is 2nd nature to you & that was HELP a friend in need.  Rain, I know the type of person you are too and I know there was no malice on your part by not revelaing the receipt of the $$ and I KNOW you didn't use it selfishly but for the good of your family.  You have Mr. Smarties to look after now and times are tough, salaries slashed, jobs lost but the needs of Mr. Smarties comes before pride.  I'll stop here because I can probably do more harm than good if I go on. Just know that you have alot of friends who love you & will be here for you whatever the future holds.

Rain, I'm not even gonna say what's on my mind.  I would, but I'm not going to risk doing so when *I'm not the one who would potentially pay the price if my comments weren't taken the way they were intended.
 
On second thought, there IS one thing I'm gonna say, and drama be damned. 
 
Lumus - on the talking to folks of the opposite gender online via email, chat, or whatthefuckever ...... Pot, Kettle, Black.  I think you can take the hint from that.

The Ceremony

Members of the congregation sign the Quaker Marriage Certificate as a witness to both their presence and support for the marriage.  The certificate, in the form of a scroll or a book, has no legal standing but reminds the couple of their friends' happiness and hopes for the success of the marriage. 

I like that.  The community supports the couple.

Agreed sunshinemiss! It is the approach I take to my friends' relationships. I want to see them successful and happy. That means being there in the dark times and holding them up in any way I can. Always there for you, Rain! I don't know Lumus at all, but that does not change my hopes for their bright future beyond this current storm! My best!

Lumus and Rain, I honour your relationship and choices and send my love and support to you both.  I still smile thinking of when I was at your home earlier this year and Lumus coming home from work (to be met by a gaggle of women talking non stop) and he sitting near Rain, taking his shoes off and running his sock-covered feet up and down Rain's legs.  I don't know why but it struck me as incredibly caring and beautiful.  May you both learn and your relationship deepen and grow.  [:)]
