Actually.. this thread is supposed to be a beauty pagent - ok, not so much really, but hey, check out the name: "Why are they beautiful?"
I was under the impression that we are here on this thread to discuss the myriad points that people find attractive about certain famous persons that they like, or maybe that they are confused about because so many other people find them attractive and some do not. I did not think it was to let yet another decent thread degenerate into yet another snarkfest.
Simple enough, no?
So yes, Glenn Close is one of the confusing ones.. classy and a good actress; personally I think it's that classy thing that makes her beautiful, in a world where classy, classical women are a dying breed.
Joaquin Phoenix has Really Pretty Eyes.
Tammy Faye Bakker is dead, was not someone I particularly approved of but I won't trash her here, because that feels wrong to Me.

Whoopi Goldberg.

Yes, but the theme appears to be how many do and do not find the person in question (per listing per turn) beautiful.  In an actual Pageant, it's quite the same, as you'll never find Glen Close's nose, or, as per your listing, Whoopi's abundunt buns.

Which I am sure Ted Danson slobbered over regularly and made use of as regularly.  But her booty and hair?  Never "beautiful" or "pageant' material.

Well said, but I believe I did in fact say "ok, not so much" about the beauty pagent part. I loathe pagents almost as much as I loathe drama queens.

Is it Serena Williams or her sister Venus who recently threw the very unsportsmanlike tantrum at a match last week (I can never tell those girls apart)?
When someone displays a bad attitude like that, they become very un-beautiful to Me, no matter what external attractiveness they might have had otherwise.

Venus never throws tantrums, Serena however is the one with the occasional "naughty" site dedicated to her.  As for drama, I can understand dislike of it, since just as many others find supercilious attitues equaly distasteful.

That's in keeping with the thread, in a way.  [;)]

Nichelle Nichols of course had many things going for her.  Her body language was rather classic, you could see her theatre background.  Also her chape was fulsome yet athletic.

I met someone who was hot for him because she said he was a "stern grumpy Western Daddy type" and he wore a wide leather belt.

Has anyone mentioned Jolene Blalock yet? Dumb as a box of rocks, which doesn't appeal to me, but sort of cute, and I like the way she moves. Sort of young-Jane-Fonda-ish.
