I find this thread very interesting. I know the intent of the person who started it was taking another route but it's nice to know that other Dommes have made their subs earn their red wings. Nothing feels as good as sex during that time! I'll have to think so a way that my sub can commiserate with me next month.

Honestly, I have done all sorts of things while on my period in the past, but I am more than capable of gauging what is appropriate with an individual partner and I behave accordingly. I certainly would not want my menstrual blood to become a "nasty/dirty" type fetish for anyone, because I don't think it's dirty or disgusting or whatever.

When I've been with men for whom my body and all its various fluids were sacred territory, blood was just an especially intense part of the package. That said, I would prefer to close up shop when I'm with a non-pagan, for obvious reasons. I don't want to deal sexually at that time of the month with a man who would feel "degraded" by the experience.

In theory, I don't care. In practice, I have a body that hates me for the first 48 hours of flow, and I'm not going to be devising interesting and meaningful or degrading or whatever rituals for my subs. I am going to give them instructions, take massive amounts of opiates and muscle relaxants, and attempt to sleep through as much of that part as I can. Their job is going to be taking care of whatever it is I can't, such as laundry, meals, feeding animals, etc. and reminding me to keep taking the pain pills.

(Advances in prescription drugs are a happy thing; the other alternative is to put up with labor-intensity pains from solar plexus to knees for 48 hours, and that is just no fun for anyone around me.)

I recall a thread in the past where a question was asked about the sub inserting a tampon in the rectum at the same time, and the consensus in the thread was that such a practice was unsafe.

IC, I am now kept in a chastity belt for the duratition. I was just curious about how others dealt with it or not. I was not thinking about sharing as in actually sharing but sort of a tribute type sharing in...d sync, did not mean to demean anyone.

Okay. So I got a story.

My dearly-departed, mostly-vanilla ex used to wash out my fabric pads*. He wasn't squicked easily, was a hard-core environmentalist, & he got pleasure from providing that intimate service, from being allowed to have that connection with me . . . .. & it definitely was an intimacy booster for both of us . . . .

He didn't do it all the time, but fairly regularly he would wash whatever batch was soaking in a basin in the bathroom . . . .

Well I've sex when I've had a period and it can do wonders to ease the cramps! But that's not so much a D/s thing, just a horny thing and first happened with an otherwise very vanilla partner.

I had high hopes at this time in life for it to be a thing of the past but sadly, it comes and goes. However, you gotta love a Master who when His sub inexplicably starts rolling around in the bed and groaning, struck down suddenly by ovulation cramps (yeah, that means i can get pain every 2 weeks!!), reaches up to the shelf above the bed and without even looking, grabs the Ponstan and the bottle of water, pops 2 capsules and hands them over! I don't see it as dirty and disgusting. I see how some view it as something that could be though! lol

Sometimes it does help to have sex when dealing with cramps and I have used that many times... of course I got three pregnancies out of it! (Yes, some can get pg at that time! I happen to be one of them or used to be. lol)

I just don't want someone making that time a fetish. A time of whatever is called for, for the woman... cool! But that is a my thing sorta thing.. not a his thing sorta thing. lol

Exactly, Lockit! I am an old time Witch, feminist, all that jive, and it never dawned on me that my period was ICKY (except when I had to clean up after waking up in a lake, ah the joys of youth

) but it is a FEMALE thing, not something to be co-opted by men. I can see where "sharing" the experience in some way can be a form of intimacy---yay for your rag-washer, Kia!---but not a fetish.
