Relax, one day your legislature will be grown-up enough to allow its members to speak their minds freely.

I know it was a joke, but I've always found it amusing that our Congress has rules of decorum that don't permit the types of things that go on in other countries parliaments yet we are considered crass and lacking in civility.

This is some seriously effed up crap going on with Obama in office. And I'm tired of everyone screaming 'racist' just because someone might oppose Obama. Racism is not the issue. It's that a large percentage of Americans simply object to being led by the nose down the road to socialism.

Yes it is and now there is a whole thread doing it. Way to bring the country together JC.

What I find most hypocritical, is that when Bush would be speaking to members of congress, citizens in the audience section where removed because the clothing they wore was according to GOP members of congress "disrespectful" to the president.  Members of the GOP applauded their removal, yet when a member of their party truly does a disrespectful act in front of the whole world, they call it free speech.

So a citizen wearing a tee-shirt opposing the war was removed but a congressman can yell out slanderous remarks during a Presidential Address and that is OK.  As for Wilson claim that he was caught up in the moment, talk about being a lair.  He as with all members of congress, and the media received a full copy of the speech long before the speech started, so he was well aware of the contents of the speech and I would find it hard to believe that he was surprised and caught up in the moment.

Though it has kept the media off the actual story of healthcare and allowed the GOP time to create more rumors

I don't think everybody who oposes Obama is a racist, nor have I ever confused opposition to the current administration as inherently racist, Boi. I think that there is enough of a racial motive with SOME people to make the issue worth raising. To say that "nobody who opposes Obama is racially motivated" is as foolish as to say "EVERYBODY who opposes Obama is a racist."

Case in point. I have read your postings and I am very comfortable saying I do not believe you are a racist. I have read Leiren's posts and I am very convinced that she is indeed a racist. Neither of these beliefs are influenced by the support or opposition to the current' administration's policies on either of your parts.

Well, I think the examples brought up on "that other thread" were specific.  When you're questioning a person's birth certificate, already have a living will in place that people can buy (but have to pay for), and the gov't (Obama) wants old people to have that luxury of deciding how they die paid for, or at least covered, and you start ranting "Death Panel, Death Panel"...then you have to objectively look at the picture.  I am not expecting a prejudiced person to understand it.  Ignorance will prevent that understanding.

Disagreeing with a valid point is one thing.  But some of these grievances are ludicrous.  But I don't know, maybe you're right.  Maybe they're not prejudiced against blacks....maybe just prejudiced against dems?  I don't know.  When ignorance is involved everything gets fuzzy and makes no sense.
