I find so many subs/slaves posting on this site that say they are in a certain location and find out later they are actually in London or Nigeria or some other far out place. When I see a profile that states Ohio/Alabama as their location, I know they are just game players. Tell the Truth it doesn't take that much effort to just be plain truthful, but then the scam and ripoffs doesn't work.[image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m22.gif[/image]

Actually, people who are between locations will often do that as well. Sometimes people are living on two coasts or even two continents for a bit during military, work, or family relocations. I'd be a tad openminded there. The rest of it, welcome to the internet. Focus on people more local and just ignore profiles that put up red flags to you. It's simple really. lovingpet

If someone drops in that they are elsewhere than they said they where.... hasta la vista. Not interested and goodbye because the chances are it IS a scammer and I'm not wasting My time.... but then unless they are local I am not interested and that is easy checked by offering to meet them at one of the events I attend every month... if they won't do that... The conversation is at an end.

Everyone had an ice-cream cone at one point in time or another, even Ron & Holly . . . This is all an educational process. & I like to repeat this mantra: once taught is twice learned. Okay, anyways, as to the OP. Con-artists have been working the lonely & the horny for as long as there have been personal ads in newspapers & lonely hearts clubs & such like . . . . At least a coupla centuries. & before that there were scammers that preyed on the arranged marriage system. This is not something special to the internet, folks. Anymore, I read these regular, reliable threads as witness statements: "I (the OP) have been focusing much of my energy & attention on the hot-looking, youthful, slender chiquitas, & thus, I (the OP), am mostly just here to wank to the free porn that the scammers post on sites like these, all while complaining vociferously about the whole thing ... . ." With the obvious implication being, when those guys start clicking the checkboxes of people much more in their leagues, closer to their ages, weights, employment & physical condition, geographic location & / or demonstrated ability & desire to relocate, etc, etc, then they'll get better results. I tend to find it useful to keep in mind that reasonable expectations are more likely to lead to reasonable outcomes, & extreme expectations are at risk of extreme results. I do cruise the hot-young-femme-thangs profiles, I cruise all kinds of profiles. (Mmmmmmmmm, gay men . . . . .) & I cruise the middle-aged fat people profiles. There are thousands (I'd bet tens of thousands, actually) of choices on CM that are not 18-22 / 25 / 28 / whatever, who are not under 160 / 140 / 120 / whatever pounds, who do not have impossibly good looking photos on their profiles, & who do not have ridiculous come-on text in their profiles & journal entries. (Hint: Most 'real' chicks do not talk like porn. Period. Really. Generally only if they're getting paid for it. At least when it comes to random strangers on some website.) Welcome, OP, to the 'best' part of CM, the place where you can hang out with other kinksters (of all kinds of temperments & communication styles) & get to know actual peoples' minds & selves, independent of their bodies & all the kink checklists & the porn ads. All that stuff gets people (especially you poor guys) all sexually excited & thinking with the irrational brain, which can magnify vulnerability to being scammed. This side is the rational place (sorta) where other urges & motivations can play out . . . . Have fun . . . . . .

the scams and rip offs do work and work often enough to see an increase in scammers and con artists. if they didn't work they would move on and stop wasting their time it's simple mathamatics and economics with most of them they go where the money is and it's obvious there are a lot of people on collarme that are easy targets. :( London and Nigera are both major cities for scammers to be living in. I really don't know why those 2 cities are so popular maybe they have a network of sorts. Philippines is another one famous for it. Though that is not to say there aren't good people in any of those places :) Just have to be on your guard for not only those places but anywhere.

OP, I'm completely lost. Why would someone be truthful that they were simply trying to scam you? If you're able to see the red flags, then move on to someone else.

a girl's opinions : CM has become mostly a porno ad zone. Advertising here is akin to placing a billboard up in a red light zone. Real people are still around but some of us wear disguises. How many ads say "friends only" or "here for the forum" I see quite a few. That or the person who's really reallyreal is already a part of an established couple and or active on the scene and are here as free agent volunteers acting as hosts, ambassadors maybe who're just here hanging out and doing good things for the rep of this lifestyle. reality could be better than fiction this IS really F.*ed up [&:] and sort of a shame

Demon Kia, this is a really wonderful post. I know how frustrating it can be for people who feel like they just can't find anybody, but my first question is always "what are you looking for, and how rare is it?" Searching for someone who is a match on a emotional/interest level can be tough to begin with, but you make it significantly harder when you focus on a reallllyyyy small subset, and one that has lots to choose from. In other words, are you trying to find a girl 18-25, with pictures that look suspiciously like a pro shoot for a porno site, that has "no limits" and is interested in no strings attached play/sex with middle age guys who can't be bothered to create meaningful profiles of their own? Not saying that there are absolutely zero girls like that out here, but you have to be willing to accept the fact that you are in for a long wait and the chances of finding one for yourself are about as good as snagging a unicorn. When I first joined this site I put in that I was from the UK but got my first heap of mail from men in Canada. When I pointed out that they were too far away they pointed out that my profile said Canada and not the UK. When Steve first joined this site he put in that he was from the UK but like mine, his profile stated he was in Canada. The same has happened when a few subs have written to us from Canada and its turned out they are really from the UK. Don't know why this happens but I think it happens a lot

But outside of those 'comfort parameters', yeah, I prefer to stay in a polite-conversation space . . . . . & I've communicated with some 'women' (on CM, on the profile side) who I'm pretty sure were men. & the big tip-off (for me) was that, after a few communications, they started to sound like cheesy porn dialogue . . . . . .
